A Word of Warning About Disney World Wait Times Right Now…

Let’s face it — waiting in lines is one of the worst parts about Disney World.

Some queues are fun and have interactive elements or air conditioning, but most Disney World visitors want to do as much as possible to get their money’s worth — so waiting in lines is not ideal! We are sad to report that these lines are getting longer as we continue to make our way through summer break.

Most attractions in Disney World saw an increase in wait times this week. In the list below, though, each wait time that went DOWN this week is bolded. Take a look so you can see how to strategize and what to prioritize on your vacation!

Magic Kingdom

Wait times increased at almost every single attraction in Magic Kingdom with the exception of Pirates of the Caribbean (which had a pretty big increase last week). Haunted Mansion had the most significant jump in wait times from 40 minutes to 50 minutes, but Seven Dwarfs Mine Train still holds the longest wait time in the park by far.

Here are the average weekly wait times for each ride below, from shortest to longest wait times.

• Mad Tea Party: 12 minutes
• Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: 12 minutes
• Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 13 minutes
• Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini: 19 minutes
• Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid: 19 minutes
• Magic Carpets of Aladdin: 19 minutes
• Dumbo the Flying Elephant: 20 minutes
• Tomorrowland Speedway: 21 minutes
• it’s a small world: 24 minutes
• Enchanted Tales with Belle: 26 minutes
• Astro Orbiter: 31 minutes
• Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: 35 minutes
• Pirates of the Caribbean: 36 minutes
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 38 minutes
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: 38 minutes
• Haunted Mansion: 50 minutes
• Jungle Cruise: 52 minutes
• Space Mountain: 55 minutes
• Peter Pan’s Flight: 69 minutes
• Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: 82 minutes

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While wait times in Hollywood Studios were actually decreasing last week, they saw a huge jump overall this week. Slinky Dog Dash had a 101-minute average with Rise of the Resistance not far behind. Only two attractions had averages that went down — Lightning McQueen Racing Academy and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith: 67 minutes
• Rise of the Resistance: 99 minutes
• Slinky Dog Dash: 101 minutes

EPCOT

EPCOT stayed pretty calm over the past week as many of the average wait times stayed the same or fluctuated by about a minute. As usual, Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are the rides to watch out for when it comes to long lines.

• Mission: SPACE: 18 minutes
• Soarin’: 37 minutes
• Test Track: 61 minutes
• Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: 64 minutes
• Frozen Ever After: 67 minutes

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In Animal Kingdom, Flight of Passage saw a massive jump in average wait times. This week the average wait time for the Avatar-themed ride is 95 minutes, but just last week the average was 81 minutes. Other wait times went up this week as well, but Kali River Rapids actually decreased.

• TriceraTop Spin: 7 minutes
• It’s Tough to Be a Bug: 10 minutes
• Dinosaur: 26 minutes
• Expedition Everest: 28 minutes
• Kilimanjaro Safaris: 38 minutes
• Kali River Rapids: 34 minutes
• Na’vi River Journey: 63 minutes
• Avatar Flight of Passage: 95 minutes
