Disney Genie: Lightning Lane Multi Pass

In late June 2024, Disney dropped a Genie+ bombshell: Beginning on July 24th, many elements of the system—including its name—are changing! According to Disney, the Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while Individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.

The new system will “blend features from our current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.”

Overview

Starting July 24th, 2024, Disney World will adapt the existing My Disney Experience App so guests will be able to:

  • Make Lightning Lane plans before your Disney vacation.
  • Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting.
  • Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.
Genie+ Lightning Lane

You will now be able to make 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit (yes, that does sound familiar) and choose available times as you make your selections. From there, as you use each selection on the day of your visit, you can use the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.

Don't wait until the last minute! Download our Lightning Lane Multi Pass guide to know ALL the tips & tricks before you go.

Planning

Disney Resort hotel guests and other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.

These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their priority rides and experiences to work around any existing dining reservations they may have already secured and any other plans they may need to consider.

Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.

Lightning Lane will blend features from existing Disney services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests a choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.

How To Guide

When you’re within your planning window (either 7+ days for resort guests or 3 days for non-resort guests) at 7AM (ET), you’ll be able to select up to three Lightning Lane Multi-Pass experiences per day of your trip.

Use your My Disney Experience app on your phone or through the Disney website to make your selections. Make sure your entire travel party is linked together on your account.

You’ll be able to see the available attraction options and times available. Once you select the three attractions and preferred times, you will then be prompted to purchase the Multi Pass Lightning Lane service for that day.

You can purchase the Multi Pass Lightning Lane service for each day of your trip or just for select days when you’d like to use it.

Once you’re in the parks and have redeemed your first Multi Pass Lightning Lane attraction, you can then go back into your My Disney Experience to select another experience based on the attractions and times available.

Your first 3 selections must all be at the same park, but once you’ve redeemed them you can make selections at other parks if you plan to do some park hopping.

You can hold up to 3 Multi Pass Lightning Lane experiences at any one time, so once you use one, add on another to get the most bang for your buck.
