There are so many restaurants in Disneyland. When you’re going to visit, where do you even start? Lucky for you, we’ve tried all the restaurants at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, so you can decide if this spot is worth a stop.

We went to Poultry Palace on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure, and we’re bringing you a full review. Should you stop by this snack stand during your visit to Disney? Let’s find out!
Background
This is a small snack stand where you can walk up, order, and be on your way. They have a minimal menu with three food options, bags of chips, and bottled soda and water. They sometimes have special offerings, like right now, where you can grab a Chimichanga.

This place is great for a small lunch or a quick snack, and you might do the job of holding you over until your bigger dining reservation.

Let’s check out the space.
Atmosphere
Poultry Palace is based on a Pixar short, Toy Story Toon: Small Fry, and looks like a kids’ meal carry-out box! It’s bright purple and orange and hard to miss while walking around the pier. It fits right into the Pixar-themed area, and we love that it’s right by Jessie’s Critter Carousel.

Enough about the details, let’s eat!
Food & Drinks
We started with the Chicken Drumstick Box for $10.00, which comes with a side of slaw.

In our box (which is super cute, by the way), we got three legs and a good-sized cup of coleslaw. Starting with the cole slaw, we were obsessed! It was tart and crunchy and truly one of the best we’ve had, especially at Disneyland.

The chicken, on the other hand, was hit and miss. It had an incredible smoky dry rub on the skin that gave it a bit of a kick. One of the legs was moist and tasty and had us going back for more, but the other two were not our favorites. They were a bit rubbery in texture, but we still enjoyed the flavor of the dry rub.
Then we had the Jumbo Smoked Turkey Leg for $12.99.

This is your traditional turkey leg, which you’ve likely seen around the parks. Typically, these tend to vary slightly from one turkey leg to another. The one we got today was quite dry and rubbery, and we didn’t enjoy how the skin was sticky and difficult to eat. Although we came close to opening, we didn’t get the fresh taste we prefer.
We also had the Chimichanga for $7.49.

This was a huge win for us! We think Deadpool would approve of these chimichangas. It was baked perfectly with a flaky crust and completely full of filling.

We rounded off our snack session with the Corn on the Cob for $5.59. You can opt for the chili-lime seasoning or buttered, and we chose the chili-lime.

If you love, love, love seasoning, this corn is for you! For us, it was a little strong and overseasoned, especially for the smaller piece we had. The seasoning tasted like it was mostly taco seasoning with a bit of Tajin in it. For the price, this was not our favorite, and we would prefer trying corn on the cob at other locations.

Magic or Tragic?
You should stop at Poultry Palace if…
-
- It’s convenient for your DCA day! We’re not sure we would go out of the way, but it’s a nice stop when you see it.
- You love easy-to-grab snacks that you can take and go on with your day
- You like classic food options without anything getting too crazy
This might not be the place for you if…
-
- You’re looking for somewhere with a wide variety of options
- You want a longer meal where it’s easy to find a table, especially if you want to beat the heat and stay indoors
- You prefer special, or unique food that you’ll be talking about for years from your Disneyland trip
Overall, we’ll be thinking about the Chimichanga for a while, but we’re not sure if we’ll return for the other options. When you need a snack and you aren’t feeling too picky, this can be a great stop to fuel up before heading onto your next ride, but we probably won’t be going out of our way to eat here.
We have reviews from tons of Disneyland restaurants, so make sure you’re following AllEars for all the details you need for your next Disneyland trip.
