This summer, Disney Cruise Line will open a new island destination called Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Then, later this year, the Disney Treasure will set sail for the first time. But what do you have to look forward to after that? Another NEW ship!

Disney Cruise Line has just announced that the next ship will be named the Disney Destiny! It will set sail for the first time in 2025.

Disney Destiny Theme

The ship will have a first-of-its-kind design theme, focusing on Disney heroes and villains. Disney shared a video on YouTube with some backstory on the theme. Onboard the ship, you’ll encounter heroes and villains alike from stories including The Lion King, Hercules, and 101 Dalmatians.

Aboard the Disney Destiny, you must choose a side: Heroes or Villains.

The ship’s theme will be inspired by Heroes and Villains and will draw “on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions.”

According to Disney, Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.” Look out for both heroes and villains onboard the ship, including characters from The Lion KingOne Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Hercules. Disney teased new spaces, experiences, and entertainment on the ship inspired by the heroes and villains of those popular Disney films.

Minnie Mouse “embodies the spirit of the Disney Destiny” and will be featured in the filigree artwork for the bow of the ship.
