Since 2021, Disney World has had a special Cinderella Castle license plate to deck out your car with Disney magic. Part of the proceeds go to charity, so over the years Disney has raised over $5 million for Florida’s Make-A-Wish branches.

Disney just announced that these popular Disney license plates will now be available on the West Coast for Disneyland!
On Tuesday, May 5th, the California State Treasurer’s Office announced its plans to launch a Disneyland-themed specialized license plate to raise money for children’s hospitals throughout the state. The proposed license plate will advance through the California Department of Motor Vehicles application process if 7,500 fans express interest during the project’s preorder phase. The design review process for the new Disneyland plate will begin once the project has enough interest. If approved, the California Treasurer’s Office and DMV will reveal the design and launch presale orders in the coming months. The Disneyland license plates will cost $50 for a standard plate and $103 for a personalized plate, plus a $40 to $83 annual DMV renewal fee.

Proceeds from Disneyland license plate sales will benefit 13 children’s hospitals in California that treat kids with medical conditions like cancer, congenital heart disease, and cystic fibrosis. The annual CHOC Walk at Disneyland raises $3 million each year for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and has raised more than $40 million over the past three decades. Disneyland has a long relationship with CHOC; Walt Disney served on the founding board and helped secure funds for its construction.
