You would think that after five decades, people might be tired of flying over London with Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Darling children, but that couldn’t be further from the truth!
Peter Pan’s Flight is still one of the hardest rides to get on in Magic Kingdom. This classic attraction has been around for just over 54 years, and judging by the wait times…it is showing no signs of slowing down.
This slow-moving dark ride through London and Neverland still draws some of the longest lines in all of Disney World. Why? Well, there could be a few reasons.
First of all, the nostalgia hits HARD. Walt Disney himself was alive when this ride was designed, as the Disneyland version opened in 1955. That’s a huge reason people come to the Disney parks in the first place, and with such an iconic story and history, there’s no doubt as to why the line is always sticking out of the queue.
Secondly, this ride has a low capacity. The ride vehicles each hold two to three people, and they move incredibly slowly. So even if demand for the ride isn’t that high, it’s going to take a while for people to get through the line.
It can be easy to remember the brand-new rides (we’re looking at you TRON) when it comes to strategy, but you could end up spending more time in line for the attractions that are several decades old. Don’t forget — Peter Pan’s Flight is on Lightning Lane Multi Pass! I usually don’t get it as one of my first three choices, but it tends to be my fourth or fifth pick since they can fill up quickly.
