Yesterday, December 7th, we noticed an interesting wait times trend happening in EPCOT. Let’s talk about it!
There is one attraction that reported both a 70-minute wait AND a 15-minute wait….just one hour apart. In fact, the wait times were all over the place all day! We’re talking about Soarin’ Around the World in EPCOT — you have to time your visit just right to avoid a long line!
The wait time here ranged from 15 minutes to 70 minutes, all on the same day. Pay close attention to the wait times on the My Disney Experience app so you don’t get stuck waiting in line during the busiest time of the day. Later in the evening, the wait time dropped to 25 minutes! Now, let’s take a look at the rest of the wait times on December 7th, 2024.

If they would just bring back the old fast pass system they wouldn’t be having so much trouble with wait times. I know they love charging for their new genie service or whatever, but the old system let them shape traffic constantly and immediately while people were in the park. You would press the button and just get a time to come back later, or if a ride was very crowded or lots of fast passes had already been given out then you wouldn’t be able to get one and would either have to brave the line or come back later and try again for a fast pass. The problem with charging for the service upfront is that it doesn’t allow you to shape traffic on the go once people are inside the park. You’ve already sold so many and they’re going to be used, leaving everyone else to wait in a lot of long lines, but also leaving users of genie to wait in longer lines too. I’d be willing to pay to access the old service, but not this new one, it’s hot garbage.
