Is Staying at a Disney World Hotel Worth The Price For Early Entry?

Early Entry can absolutely change your Disney World day.

Early Entry in 2025

During busy seasons and especially in the hotter months, those extra 30 minutes in the parks can mean knocking out major rides before the Florida heat and crowds really settle in. But whether it’s actually worth the price of a resort stay is a much more complicated answer than a simple yes or no. This is one of those Disney World debates where the answer truly depends on your travel style, budget, and how you tour the parks. Some people will get incredible value from Early Entry, while others may end up paying hundreds more for a perk they barely use. Here’s what you should know before booking that Disney hotel strictly for Early Entry access.

Early Entry Works Best If You Actually USE It

This sounds obvious, but it matters more than people think.

If your vacation style involves sleeping until 9 AM, grabbing a slow breakfast, and wandering into the parks whenever you feel like it, Early Entry probably is not worth paying extra for. Disney’s Early Entry perk rewards people who are committed to rope dropping the parks and moving quickly first thing in the morning. You really need to be a morning person to maximize it.

Early Entry at Animal Kingdom

Guests staying at Disney hotels can enter all four parks 30 minutes before official opening every single day. That might not sound like much on paper, but in practice, it can make a huge difference at attractions with long waits.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train During Early Theme Park Entry

In one of our Magic Kingdom tests, the Early Entry advantage allowed us to knock out Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, and TRON Lightcycle / Run before 10 AM. Meanwhile, guests entering at regular park opening waited significantly longer for those same rides throughout the morning. That extra half hour creates a head start that snowballs fast.

Summer Heat Makes Early Entry More Valuable

This is where Early Entry starts making a lot more sense financially. During warmer months at Walt Disney World Resort, getting major rides done before noon can completely change your day. Central Florida heat gets brutal fast, especially between June and September. Add humidity, crowded walkways, and long outdoor queues, and afternoons can feel exhausting.

Early Entry at EPCOT

Early Entry helps you front-load your day. You can hit several high-demand attractions while temperatures are still relatively manageable, then slow down later when the parks become more crowded and uncomfortable. For a lot of people, that alone adds real value to staying on property. It also creates flexibility. You can head back to your hotel during the hottest part of the afternoon instead of spending hours baking in standby lines.

Value Resorts Can Make The Math Easier

If you’re trying to justify staying on property primarily for Early Entry, the Value Resorts probably make the strongest argument. Hotels like Disney’s Pop Century Resort or Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort can sometimes narrow the price gap enough that the added convenience and Early Entry access start feeling worthwhile.

You’re not just getting the perk itself. You’re also getting Disney transportation, easier access to the parks, and in some cases, quicker morning arrival compared to off-site guests who have to deal with the Transportation and Ticket Center at Magic Kingdom.

Not a lot of people here

That transportation factor matters more than people realize. Guests staying off property at places like the Swan and Dolphin or other nearby hotels often still have to transfer transportation when visiting Magic Kingdom. Meanwhile, Disney resort buses can drop guests much closer to the entrance, saving valuable time during the morning rush.

Deluxe Resorts Create A Different Kind Of Strategy

Now, if you’re staying at a Deluxe Disney resort, the Early Entry value conversation changes a little. At that price point, the perk alone is definitely not enough justification. But it can become part of a smarter overall vacation strategy.

Early Entry into Liberty Square

A lot of Deluxe resort guests use Early Entry to aggressively tackle headliner attractions first thing in the morning, then return to the resort later to enjoy the amenities they paid so much for in the first place. That means pool afternoons at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, relaxing breaks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, or easy midday monorail access from resorts near Magic Kingdom.

Early Entry

Deluxe resort guests also get access to Extended Evening Hours on select nights, which is another major factor to consider when you’re deciding if the higher hotel price is worth it. That perk gives eligible guests extra time in the parks after closing with significantly lower crowds, which can make a huge difference for popular attractions.

Extended Evening Hours at Animal Kingdom

For some people, that creates the ultimate park day strategy. You can use Early Entry to knock out rides in the morning, head back to the hotel for a midday nap or pool break when the heat and crowds peak, then return late at night for Extended Evening Hours. Others may try to stay in the parks all day from rope drop to park close, but that approach definitely requires stamina.

In that scenario, the value comes less from just Early Entry alone and more from how all the Deluxe resort perks work together to create a more flexible vacation experience.

If Early Entry Is Your ONLY Reason, The Answer Is Probably No

Here’s the bottom line. If you’re booking a Disney hotel strictly because of Early Entry and nothing else appeals to you about staying on property, it’s probably not worth the extra money.

Early Entry scan in!

You can still have extremely successful park days as an off-site guest if you rope drop strategically. In fact, some attractions at Magic Kingdom are not open during Early Entry, which gives regular guests an opportunity to target those rides right at official opening.

But if you already like Disney transportation, want easier logistics, plan to take afternoon breaks, or travel during the hottest months of the year, Early Entry becomes a much stronger benefit. For the right traveler, it can absolutely improve the entire vacation experience.

Early Entry!

At the end of the day, Early Entry is one of those perks that delivers huge value for some Disney fans and almost none for others. The key is being honest about how you actually tour the parks, not how you hope you’ll tour them once vacation starts.
