All Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is one of Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts, celebrating baseball, basketball, football, surfing, and tennis with enormous equipment, brightly colored courtyards, and the sort of athletic decor that has never once heard the phrase “maybe scale it back.”
We’re talking giant football helmets, towering tennis rackets, oversized baseball bats, huge surfboards, and basketball-themed buildings that look ready to host the world’s largest pickup game.
All-Star Sports is designed as a relatively budget-friendly way to stay on Disney property while still getting the benefits that come with an eligible Disney Resort hotel stay. It doesn’t have the transportation variety, sprawling dining scene, or elaborate pools of Disney’s pricier hotels, but that’s not really the point here.
If you’re looking for a colorful place to sleep between park days and would rather save some of your vacation budget for everything happening outside your hotel room, All-Star Sports is worth knowing.

Overview
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area at:
1701 West Buena Vista Drive
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-8401
Phone: (407) 939-5000
All-Star Sports is a Value Resort and is part of Disney’s larger All-Star Resort complex, along with Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

The resort’s main selling points are relatively affordable Disney Resort pricing, bold sports theming, two swimming pools, and access to the standard benefits available to eligible Disney Resort hotel guests.
The compromises are fairly typical for Disney’s Value Resorts. Rooms are compact, dining is largely quick service, transportation relies primarily on buses, and the pools are simpler than the elaborate feature pools found at many Moderate and Deluxe Resorts.

It’s a resort aimed squarely at guests who would rather spend their vacation budget and vacation hours in the theme parks than turn the hotel itself into the main event.
What’s New at All-Star Sports
Current Standard and Preferred Rooms generally feature one queen bed and one queen-size table bed. The table bed folds into the wall when it isn’t being used, leaving a table and chairs in its place and freeing up some much-needed floor space during the day.

Disney also periodically refurbishes rooms, pools, landscaping, shops, restaurants, and other areas throughout its Resort hotels. If you have an upcoming stay, check Disney’s official All-Star Sports Resort information shortly before your trip for current refurbishment notices. Construction schedules change, and nothing ages quite as aggressively as a Disney hotel closure notice somebody screenshotted six months ago.
Layout and Theming
All-Star Sports is divided into five themed areas, each dedicated to a different sport.
Surf’s Up!
The Surf’s Up! section is themed around surfing, with enormous surfboards and beach-inspired details throughout the area. It’s also home to Surfboard Bay Pool and is conveniently located near Stadium Hall, making this one of the resort’s busiest and most centrally located sections.

Being close to the main pool and central building is convenient. It can also mean being close to everyone else who thought being close to the main pool and central building sounded convenient.
Touchdown!
The Touchdown! section celebrates football with huge helmets, footballs, goal posts, field markings, and buildings flanking a football-themed courtyard.

If your family has ever wanted to settle a sibling argument using an enormous X-and-O play diagram, Disney has conveniently provided the backdrop. The resort playground is also located near the Touchdown! area.
Center Court
Center Court is dedicated to tennis, complete with gigantic rackets, tennis balls, and court-inspired details.

It’s another gloriously unsubtle corner of the hotel. Nobody is walking through here and wondering whether Disney went with a restrained interpretation of Wimbledon.
Home Run Hotel
The Home Run Hotel celebrates baseball with giant bats, baseballs, scoreboards, and other ballpark-inspired details.

The baseball-diamond-shaped Grand Slam Pool is located in this section, making it a handy area for guests who want easy access to the resort’s second swimming pool.
Hoops Hotel
The Hoops Hotel takes on basketball, with enormous hoops, basketballs, megaphones, whistles, and other oversized athletic gear.

This section is farther from some of the activity around Stadium Hall, which can mean a longer walk but may also appeal to guests who don’t need to be directly in the center of the action.
Stadium Hall
Stadium Hall is the resort’s central building and the place you’ll probably visit most often outside your room. You’ll find the lobby and Front Desk, End Zone Food Court, Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries, Game Point Arcade, and access to the resort’s bus transportation here.

Because the resort stretches outward from Stadium Hall, room location matters. If minimizing the walk to transportation and food is important to you, take a close look at the Preferred Room category.
Rooms
All-Star Sports currently offers two primary room categories:
- Standard Room
- Preferred Room
Both categories generally sleep up to four adults and feature:
- 1 Queen Bed
- 1 Queen-Size Table Bed
The table bed folds down at night and can be stored during the day, leaving a table and chairs behind. In a compact Value Resort room, furniture that can pull double duty earns its keep.

Standard Rooms may overlook a courtyard, pool, or parking area.
Preferred Rooms have the same general sleeping arrangement but are located closer to Stadium Hall, dining, shopping, and transportation. You aren’t paying for a larger room, private balcony, or a fruit basket delivered by Goofy in a sport coat. You’re primarily paying to reduce your walking distance to the things you’ll probably use most.
Typical in-room amenities include:
- Beverage cooler
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Hairdryer
- In-room safe
- Iron and ironing board
- Television
Rooms open onto exterior corridors rather than interior hotel hallways, and there are no private balconies or patios.
If you’re sensitive to noise, consider requesting an upper-floor room away from the pools, elevators, and major walkways. Room requests aren’t guaranteed, but location can make a noticeable difference at a busy Value Resort.
What Do Rooms Cost?
All-Star Sports is generally among the less expensive Disney Resort hotels, but a fixed room-rate range isn’t especially useful. Prices vary based on travel dates, weekends, holidays, demand, room category, and available discounts. Disney may also release special offers for certain guests or travel periods.

Your best comparison is the boring but accurate one: search using your actual travel dates and see what Disney is charging for the room you actually want. A price from three seasons ago isn’t going to help much when you’re trying to book Thanksgiving week.
Dining
Dining at All-Star Sports keeps things simple. This is not the resort to choose because you’ve planned a three-night culinary crawl through its restaurants. There are two primary dining options, and one of them is a pool bar.
End Zone Food Court
End Zone Food Court is the resort’s main quick-service dining location and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menus change, but you’ll typically find familiar quick-service choices such as burgers, pizza, pasta, breakfast items, desserts, snacks, and other grab-and-go selections.

Mobile Order is generally available through the My Disney Experience app, which is particularly helpful when you’re returning from the parks and would prefer your evening to contain fewer lines. This is also where you’ll generally find the resort’s refillable mug beverage stations.
Grandstand Spirits
Grandstand Spirits is the resort’s pool bar next to Surfboard Bay Pool. Offerings generally include specialty cocktails, frozen drinks, beer, wine, sangria, and nonalcoholic beverages.

Menus and operating hours can change, so check the My Disney Experience app during your stay.
Is There a Table-Service Restaurant?
No. All-Star Sports does not have a traditional table-service restaurant. You’ll need to travel elsewhere around Walt Disney World for resort lounges, full-service restaurants, character meals, or a sit-down dinner that involves anything more ceremonious than finding a clean food-court table.

If your resort dining requirements are basically “coffee before the bus” and “something edible when we get back from EPCOT,” End Zone Food Court handles that job nicely.
Transportation
All-Star Sports relies primarily on Disney bus transportation. There is no Disney Skyliner, monorail, or boat transportation directly from the resort.
Disney Buses
The bus stop is located in front of Stadium Hall. Complimentary Disney buses connect All-Star Sports with major destinations throughout Walt Disney World, including the theme parks and Disney Springs. Transportation to other destinations, including Disney water parks, may depend on current Disney operations.

Bus routes and operating patterns can change based on destination, crowd levels, and time of day. Disney may also occasionally adjust how transportation operates among the All-Star Resorts.
Check transportation information in the My Disney Experience app or at the resort during your stay rather than assuming every trip will operate exactly the same way. And if you’re trying to make rope drop, a breakfast reservation, or any other appointment where being 20 minutes late will ruin your mood before 8 AM, leave yourself extra time.
Rideshare and Minnie Van Service
Rideshare services can be useful when you don’t want to wait for a bus or you’re traveling somewhere that requires an inconvenient transfer using Disney transportation. Disney’s Minnie Van service, when available, can also provide transportation around Walt Disney World through the Lyft app for an additional charge.

Pools and Recreation
All-Star Sports has two themed swimming pools.
Surfboard Bay Pool
Surfboard Bay Pool is the resort’s main pool and sits between the Surf’s Up! buildings behind Stadium Hall.

The beach-inspired area is lined with enormous surfboards and serves as the center of much of the resort’s poolside activity. A separate kiddie pool for younger guests is located nearby.
Grand Slam Pool
The Grand Slam Pool is located in the Home Run Hotel section and is shaped like a baseball diamond.

Goofy takes the pitcher’s mound as part of the pool’s water feature, while the surrounding deck continues the baseball theme with an outfield-inspired design and enormous bats. It’s a fun second option if you’re staying farther from Stadium Hall or simply want a change from the main pool.
All-Star Sports has a simpler pool setup than you’ll find at many Disney Moderate and Deluxe Resorts. If elaborate waterslides and destination-worthy pool complexes are a major part of your vacation, make sure you’re comparing the resort amenities before booking.
Other Recreation
Recreation offerings may include:
- Movies Under the Stars
- Campfire activities
- Poolside games and activities
- A playground near the Touchdown! section
- Game Point Arcade in Stadium Hall
- A roughly one-mile jogging and walking trail through the All-Star Resort area

Entertainment schedules and individual activities can change, so check the current recreation schedule during your stay.
Amenities and Services
We’re keeping the practical stuff together because nobody needs a 700-word subplot about where Disney keeps the washing machines.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
- Online Check-In and Direct-to-Room service
- Complimentary self-parking for registered Resort guests under current Disney policy
- Housekeeping service
- 24-hour self-service laundry facilities near Surfboard Bay and Grand Slam Pool
- ATM near the Front Desk
- Mail services
- Designated outdoor smoking areas
- Game Point Arcade
- Front Desk and Guest Services in Stadium Hall
- Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries

Individual services and policies can change, so check Disney’s current Resort information if a particular amenity is important to your stay.
Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries
Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries is the resort’s primary merchandise location. You’ll generally find Disney souvenirs, sports apparel, character merchandise, snacks, drinks, and vacation necessities here.

In other words, this is where you go when someone waits until bedtime to announce that they have no sunscreen, need a snack, and somehow forgot to pack a toothbrush.
Online Check-In and Direct-to-Room Service
Guests can use the My Disney Experience app to complete Online Check-In before arrival. Eligible guests may receive their room number through the app when the room becomes available and can use supported digital room-entry options without necessarily visiting the Front Desk first.

The Front Desk is still available for room requests, reservation problems, accessibility needs, billing questions, or anything else where talking to an actual Cast Member makes more sense than staring angrily at your phone.
Check-In and Check-Out
Disney Resort hotel rooms generally have a 3 PM check-in time and an 11 AM check-out time. You can arrive before your room is ready and begin using many Resort amenities. Guests using Online Check-In may receive a notification through the My Disney Experience app when their room becomes available.
Disney Resort Guest Benefits
Because All-Star Sports is part of the Disney Resorts Collection, eligible guests receive many of the standard benefits offered to Disney Resort hotel guests.
Early Theme Park Entry
Eligible Disney Resort hotel guests currently receive Early Theme Park Entry at Walt Disney World’s theme parks. This benefit generally allows qualifying guests to enter participating parks before the regular opening time. Valid theme park admission is required, and operating details can change, so confirm park hours before your visit.

Lightning Lane Planning
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels generally receive an earlier opportunity to purchase and plan eligible Lightning Lane passes than most off-site guests. Lightning Lane systems have changed before and could change again, so check Disney’s current rules before your vacation rather than memorizing a booking window from an old trip.
Advance Dining Reservations
Disney Resort hotel guests can generally begin making dining reservations 60 days before arrival and may receive the ability to book eligible reservations across their Resort stay when that window opens. Disney can adjust booking policies, so check the current rules before your reservation date.
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours
All-Star Sports guests generally do not qualify for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. That benefit is typically reserved for guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villas, and certain other eligible hotels.
Seasonal Resort Benefits
Disney sometimes offers additional limited-time benefits to guests staying at Disney Resort hotels. These perks may be tied to specific seasons, arrival dates, or Resort categories, so always check current Disney Resort hotel benefits before your vacation rather than assuming something offered during a previous trip is still available.

AllEars Tips
Preferred Rooms are really about your feet. You’re paying to be closer to Stadium Hall, the food court, shopping, and bus transportation. If you’re happy walking farther, Standard may be the better use of your vacation budget.
Don’t assume pool proximity is automatically better. Surfboard Bay is convenient and lively. “Lively” can become a less appealing adjective when you’re attempting an afternoon nap ten yards away.
Consider an upper-floor room for a quieter stay. Because the buildings use exterior corridors, you’ll have guests passing directly outside room windows and doors. A location away from pools, elevators, and busy paths can help.
Give the buses some breathing room. All-Star Sports doesn’t have Skyliner, monorail, or boat service. If you’re trying to arrive somewhere at a specific time, don’t build your plan around the absolute fastest possible bus trip.
The Grand Slam Pool can be handy. Guests staying toward the Home Run Hotel end of the resort don’t necessarily need to trek back toward Surfboard Bay every time somebody wants to swim.
Compare all three All-Star Resorts. Pricing can vary, and the basic Value Resort experience is similar. If the hotels are close in price, theming and room location may become the deciding factors.
If you’re traveling with more than four people, look carefully at your alternatives. Standard rooms at All-Star Sports generally sleep up to four adults. Larger groups may want to compare multiple rooms here with accommodations such as the Family Suites at All-Star Music or Art of Animation.
Check current Resort notices shortly before you travel. Pool maintenance, refurbishment work, transportation procedures, and other operations can change. A quick check before departure can save you from arriving with a very specific plan for something temporarily hidden behind a construction wall.

Is All-Star Sports Right for You?
All-Star Sports makes the most sense for guests who want a relatively affordable way to stay inside the Disney bubble and plan to spend most of their vacation away from the hotel.
It’s particularly appealing to sports fans, families with kids who love the larger-than-life theming, and travelers who care more about Disney transportation and Resort benefits than upscale hotel amenities.
The resort knows exactly what it is. The football helmets are enormous. The tennis rackets are enormous. The baseball bats are enormous. Restraint was traded during the offseason for a second-round draft pick.
That can be part of the fun, especially for kids.
All-Star Sports may be a less natural fit if you want several restaurants, lounges, sophisticated theming, larger rooms, private balconies, elaborate pools, or transportation beyond buses.
It’s also worth comparing prices with All-Star Movies and All-Star Music. The three Resorts share a lot of the same basic strengths and limitations, so if one is substantially cheaper for your dates, that can be more important than whether you prefer giant footballs or giant guitars.
For park-heavy trips where the hotel mostly needs to provide a bed, shower, pool, food court, and ride back to the magic, All-Star Sports can be exactly enough.
