Disney’s All-Star Music Resort is one of Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts, celebrating everything from jazz and country to rock ‘n’ roll, Broadway, and calypso with oversized instruments, colorful courtyards, and some very committed musical decor.
This is not a resort that quietly hints at its theme. There are giant guitars, enormous cowboy boots, towering jukeboxes, and a swimming pool shaped like a guitar. All-Star Music came to perform, and apparently nobody told it there was a volume knob.
Like Disney’s other All-Star Resorts, Music is designed as a relatively budget-friendly way to stay on Disney property. But it also has one important trick up its sequined sleeve: Family Suites that sleep up to six adults.

The resort’s biggest selling points are relatively affordable Disney Resort pricing, playful music-inspired theming, Family Suites, and access to the standard perks offered to eligible Disney Resort hotel guests.
The tradeoffs are fairly predictable for a Value Resort. Standard rooms are compact, dining is largely quick service, transportation relies primarily on Disney buses, and the pools don’t offer some of the elaborate features found at higher-priced Disney hotels.
For guests who spend most of their time in the parks, though, All-Star Music can be a practical home base. And for larger families, those suites deserve a serious look.
What’s New at All-Star Music
All-Star Music has been updated over the years, and older resort photos may show room layouts and furnishings that no longer match what you’ll find today.
Standard and Preferred Rooms now generally feature one queen bed and one queen-size table bed. The table bed folds into the wall when it isn’t being used, opening up valuable floor space during the day. The resort’s Family Suites have also been updated and now include one queen bed and two queen-size pull-down beds, along with two full bathrooms and a kitchenette.
Disney routinely refurbishes Resort hotels, so individual buildings, pools, restaurants, shops, landscaping, or other areas may occasionally be affected by maintenance or construction.
If you have an upcoming stay, check Disney’s current All-Star Music Resort information shortly before your trip rather than relying on an old refurbishment schedule. Disney construction dates have a remarkable ability to become ancient history while you’re still deciding which suitcase to bring.
Layout and Theming
All-Star Music is divided into five themed areas, each celebrating a different musical genre.
Calypso
The Calypso section brings tropical music to life with enormous maracas, colorful instruments, and other larger-than-life details.
This is also the area surrounding the resort’s main guitar-shaped Calypso Pool and is among the most centrally located sections near Melody Hall.
Jazz Inn
The Jazz Inn celebrates jazz music with towering instruments and a slightly more subdued color palette than some of the resort’s louder sections.
It’s relatively convenient to the resort’s central amenities and sits near the Piano Pool.
Rock Inn
The Rock Inn does not approach rock ‘n’ roll timidly.
Expect gigantic electric guitars, jukeboxes, and decor celebrating the era when apparently the only acceptable size for a musical instrument was “visible from space.”
Country Fair
The Country Fair section brings a country-western flavor to the resort with giant cowboy boots and other appropriately oversized musical details.
This section is farther from Melody Hall than some other areas, which can mean extra walking but may appeal to guests who prefer being removed from the resort’s busiest central spaces.
Broadway Hotel
The Broadway Hotel section takes inspiration from musical theater, complete with marquees, theatrical styling, and a streetscape designed to evoke Broadway.
It may not come with an actual 11 o’clock number, but we wouldn’t object if Disney wanted to station the Muppets out there and fix that oversight.
Melody Hall
Melody Hall is the resort’s main building and the place you’ll probably visit most often outside your room. This is where you’ll find the lobby and Front Desk, Intermission Food Court, Maestro Mickey’s gift shop, Note’able Games Arcade, and access to Disney bus transportation.
When choosing a room, location matters. The resort stretches a fair distance beyond Melody Hall, so guests who want the shortest possible walk to food and buses may want to consider a Preferred Room.
Rooms
All-Star Music offers two primary standard room categories:

- Preferred Room
Both generally sleep up to four adults and feature:

During the day, the table bed can be folded into the wall, leaving a small table and chairs in its place. It’s a useful setup in a compact Value Resort room, especially when you don’t want every square inch of your hotel room permanently devoted to sleeping.
Standard Rooms may overlook a courtyard, pool area, or parking area.
Preferred Rooms have the same general sleeping arrangement but are located closer to Melody Hall, dining, shopping, and transportation. That means Preferred is primarily about location. Two bathrooms may be the least glamorous bullet point in a Disney vacation guide until six people are trying to get ready for Early Theme Park Entry at the same time. Then suddenly it deserves its own fireworks spectacular. The kitchenette also gives families more flexibility for breakfasts, snacks, drinks, and simple meals in the room.
Family Suites typically cost more than standard All-Star Music rooms, so it’s worth comparing the price against other options for larger parties. Depending on your dates, that might include two standard rooms or a Family Suite at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Don’t compare only the nightly price. Think about sleeping surfaces, bathrooms, location, transportation, and how much personal space your group will require after several consecutive days together in August humidity.
Dining
Dining at All-Star Music is simple and quick-service focused.
Intermission Food Court
Intermission Food Court is the resort’s main dining location and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menus can change, but you’ll generally find familiar quick-service options such as burgers, pizza, chicken, sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, desserts, snacks, and grab-and-go selections.
Mobile Order is typically available through the My Disney Experience app, making it handy to order food before you reach Melody Hall. This is also where you’ll generally find the resort’s refillable mug beverage stations.
Singing Spirits Pool Bar
Singing Spirits Pool Bar is located near the Calypso Pool. The menu typically includes specialty cocktails, beer, wine, sangria, nonalcoholic drinks, and a smaller selection of snacks or quick-service food.

Is There a Table-Service Restaurant?
No. All-Star Music does not have a traditional table-service restaurant. If leisurely dinners and hotel lounges are a major part of your vacation plans, you’ll need to head elsewhere around Walt Disney World.
Transportation
All-Star Music relies primarily on Disney bus transportation. There is no Disney Skyliner, monorail, or boat transportation directly from the resort.
Disney Buses
The resort’s bus stop is located in front of Melody Hall. Complimentary Disney bus transportation connects All-Star Music with major destinations around Walt Disney World, including the theme parks and Disney Springs.
Exact transportation routes and operating patterns can change. Water park transportation may also vary depending on current Disney operations. The three All-Star Resorts may occasionally operate with different bus patterns based on crowd levels, destination, or time of day, so don’t assume every trip will work exactly like the one before it.
Check the My Disney Experience app and transportation signage during your stay, and give yourself extra time when you’re trying to arrive for park opening, a dining reservation, or anything else with a clock attached to it.
Rideshare and Minnie Van Service
Rideshare can be useful when you don’t want to wait for Disney transportation or need to travel somewhere that requires an inconvenient transfer. Disney’s Minnie Van service, when available, can also provide transportation around Walt Disney World through the Lyft app for an additional charge.
Pools and Recreation
All-Star Music has two themed pools.
Calypso Pool
The Calypso Pool is the resort’s main pool and, appropriately, is shaped like a giant guitar.
The Three Caballeros are featured in the pool area, with Donald Duck, José Carioca, and Panchito providing a Disney character touch to the musical theme. A kiddie pool is located nearby for younger guests.
Piano Pool
The Piano Pool is shaped like a grand piano, complete with black-and-white piano-key styling around the deck. It offers another swimming option away from the main Calypso Pool area and may appeal to guests staying toward the farther end of the resort.
Like the other All-Star Resorts, All-Star Music’s pools are simpler than the feature pools you’ll find at many Disney Moderate and Deluxe Resorts. If waterslides and elaborate pool complexes are a major vacation priority, factor that into your hotel decision.

Online Check-In and Direct-to-Room Service

Family Suites are the reason to give Music an extra look. If you’re traveling with five or six people, two bathrooms and a kitchenette can dramatically change the logistics of your trip.
Preferred Rooms are about location. You’re paying to be closer to Melody Hall, dining, shopping, and transportation, not for an entirely different room.
Standard Rooms can be the better value. If you’re comfortable walking a little farther, you may be able to keep more money in the budget for the parts of your vacation where you actually want to spend it.
Think about where your room faces. A room near the main pool is wonderfully convenient until you’re trying to nap while everyone else is having the greatest cannonball competition of their lives.
Consider an upper-floor room if noise bothers you. Exterior corridors mean other guests will regularly pass your door and window. Being farther from pools and major walkways can help.
Build bus time into your plans. Unlike Pop Century, All-Star Music doesn’t have another Disney transportation system waiting outside. If you’re trying to rope drop a park, leave yourself some breathing room.

Is All-Star Music Right for You?
All-Star Music is a good fit for guests who want to stay on Disney property without spending Moderate or Deluxe Resort prices.
It’s especially worth considering for larger families because of the Family Suites. Sleeping up to six adults in one unit, with two bathrooms and a kitchenette, gives Music an option that neither All-Star Movies nor All-Star Sports currently offers.
Standard rooms also work well for smaller groups that plan to spend most of their vacation in the parks and primarily need a comfortable place to sleep, shower, and recharge.
The resort may be less appealing if you want multiple restaurants, lounges, waterslides, elaborate pools, private balconies, larger standard rooms, or transportation beyond buses.
And the theming is not shy. If your dream hotel whispers understated elegance, the 30-foot cowboy boot may have some disappointing news.
But for a relatively affordable Disney Resort with playful theming and surprisingly useful accommodations for bigger groups, All-Star Music can hit exactly the right note.
