Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts, celebrating classic Disney and Pixar movies with larger-than-life characters, oversized props, colorful courtyards, and enough enormous Disney icons to make your family photos look delightfully ridiculous.
You’ll find sections inspired by Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, and The Love Bug. And when we say “inspired,” Disney did not dabble in subtlety here. We’re talking towering Woody and Buzz Lightyear figures, enormous hockey masks, Sorcerer Mickey, giant puppies, and a Herbie who apparently ate his Wheaties.
All-Star Movies is one of Disney World’s more budget-friendly Resort hotels, making it a popular choice for guests who plan to spend most of their vacation in the parks but still want the perks and convenience that come with staying on Disney property.

The tradeoffs are pretty straightforward. Rooms are compact, dining options are limited compared with Disney’s Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, transportation relies primarily on buses, and the pools don’t offer some of the extra features found at higher-priced Disney hotels.
If your vacation philosophy is “sleep, shower, park, repeat,” All-Star Movies can make a lot of sense.
What’s New at All-Star Movies
Disney periodically updates guest rooms, retail spaces, and other areas around All-Star Movies, so older photos and videos may not perfectly match what you’ll see during your stay.
The resort’s rooms have been updated from their older double-bed configuration and now generally feature either one queen bed and one queen-size table bed or one king bed. The table bed folds into the wall when not in use, opening up considerably more floor space during the day.
Disney also periodically conducts refurbishment work around the resort. That may include guest rooms, shopping areas, landscaping, pools, or other facilities.

Layout and Theming
All-Star Movies is divided into five themed areas based on Disney movies.
Toy Story
The Toy Story section puts you right in the middle of Andy’s world, with enormous versions of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other familiar toys.
It’s one of the resort’s most unmistakably Disney areas and is located relatively close to Cinema Hall, making it a popular section with families.
101 Dalmatians
The 101 Dalmatians area features giant versions of Pongo and Perdita along with movie-inspired details throughout the courtyard.
If your vacation was suffering from a serious shortage of 30-something-foot-tall dogs, Disney has handled that for you.
Fantasia
The Fantasia section is home to Sorcerer Mickey, enormous spell books, dancing broomsticks, and other imagery inspired by the classic animated film.
This area also surrounds the resort’s main Fantasia Pool and is conveniently located near Cinema Hall.
The Mighty Ducks
The Mighty Ducks section commits enthusiastically to the hockey theme with oversized sticks, nets, masks, and the nearby Duck Pond Pool.
It’s farther from Cinema Hall than some of the resort’s other sections, but that distance can occasionally work in your favor if you’re looking for a room away from the busiest central areas.
The Love Bug
The Love Bug section is dedicated to Herbie, the famous Volkswagen Beetle from Disney’s live-action films.
This section is toward the back of the resort, which means a longer walk to Cinema Hall but potentially less foot traffic than you’ll find in some of the more centrally located buildings.
Cinema Hall
Cinema Hall is the resort’s main building.
This is where you’ll find the lobby and Front Desk, World Premiere Food Court, shopping, Reel Fun Arcade, and access to the resort’s bus transportation.
When choosing a room, location matters more than memorizing every giant movie prop. Some buildings require a noticeably longer walk to food and transportation, which is the main reason Disney offers a Preferred room category.

All-Star Movies offers two main room categories:

Rooms generally sleep up to four adults and include either one king bed or one queen bed plus one queen-size table bed. The table bed folds down at night and can be stored during the day, leaving a table and chairs in its place. It’s a practical setup in rooms where every square foot is doing overtime.
Standard Rooms can overlook courtyards, pools, landscaped areas, or parking areas.
Preferred Rooms offer the same general room setup but are located closer to Cinema Hall, dining, shopping, and transportation. That distinction is important: Preferred means location, not luxury.
You’re paying to reduce the number of steps between your room and the important stuff. After a full day of park touring, those saved steps may suddenly feel worth approximately their weight in gold.

World Premiere Food Court
World Premiere Food Court is the resort’s primary quick-service restaurant and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu typically includes familiar Disney quick-service fare such as Mickey waffles, breakfast platters, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, bakery items, desserts, snacks, and grab-and-go selections. Mobile Order may be available through the My Disney Experience app, making it easier to order while you’re walking back from the bus or plotting how quickly you can get into pajamas. This is also where you’ll typically find the resort’s refillable mug beverage stations.
Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar
Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar is located near the Fantasia Pool. The bar serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, and other rotating selections. Menus and operating hours can vary, so check the My Disney Experience app during your stay.
Is There a Table-Service Restaurant?
No. All-Star Movies does not have a traditional table-service restaurant. If you’re planning a lot of resort dinners, lounges, or sit-down meals, you’ll need to head elsewhere around Walt Disney World. Transportation
All-Star Movies relies primarily on Disney bus transportation. The resort does not have Skyliner, monorail, or boat service.

The bus stop is located outside Cinema Hall. Complimentary Disney transportation connects All-Star Movies with Walt Disney World’s theme parks and other major destinations. Bus operations can also change depending on crowd levels and time of day. All-Star Movies has two themed pools.
Fantasia Pool

Preferred Rooms are about location. You’re not getting a larger or dramatically upgraded room. You’re paying to stay closer to Cinema Hall, food, shopping, and buses.
Don’t automatically dismiss a Standard Room. If saving money matters more than saving a few minutes of walking, Standard can be the smarter booking.
Ask for an upper floor if noise bothers you. Exterior corridors mean people will walk directly past room windows and doors. A room away from pools and heavily traveled walkways can make a noticeable difference.
Pool proximity is a double-edged lightsaber. Being close to the water is convenient. Hearing everyone else enjoying the water while you’re attempting an afternoon nap is considerably less magical.

The theming is unapologetically loud and Disney-forward. You will know you are staying at Walt Disney World. Nobody has ever wandered past a gigantic Woody and thought, “What a tasteful little business hotel.”
On the other hand, All-Star Movies may not be your best match if you’re looking for several restaurants, lounges, elaborate pools, a waterslide, larger rooms, private balconies, or transportation beyond buses.
There are Resorts where the hotel itself is part of the vacation destination. All-Star Movies is more of a brightly themed home base.
