Why You Shouldn't Wait To Get in Line for Your Favorite Disney World Rides

Disney World during the summer can be a fickle beast. It’s usually either swelteringly hot or torrentially downpouring — with very little in between.

If you’re heading to Disney World soon, keep in mind that thunderstorms tend to roll in during the afternoons — and that can mean ride closures across the parks. Rain and lightning can cause outdoor rides to close, but we have plenty of tips on how you can still make the most of your day!

When it comes to surviving the rainy days in Disney World, you’ll want to stay updated on local weather — this is the best way to be prepared for any changes that could impact your vacation and travel. Next, make sure you pack your rain gear! This can include things like a good poncho, an umbrella, waterproof shoes, or even bringing extra socks for when your feet need to dry off.

As long as the parks are open, you can stay and make the most of them. Many times when the storms hit, huge crowds will leave, making the lines shorter for you. Indoor queues and indoor entertainment will get busier during these periods of time, but sometimes, one longer indoor queue is all you need for the rain to die off so you can continue on with your day.
