May is going to be ROUGH for fans of a classic Disneyland ride.

As Disneyland continues to change, expand, and get ready for the big D23 fan expo this summer, the resort is conducting some big housekeeping. Among current projects is a major refurbishment that will close a beloved ride.
Starting May 4th, 2026, Pirates of the Caribbean will be closed for refurbishment. A reopening date has yet to be announced.

The beloved boat ride that spawned a HUGE box office movie franchise will be joining several others on the list of lengthy Disneyland closures. Astro Blasters, the Disneyland Monorail, Jungle Cruise, and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin will also be closed at various points in May.

Additionally, the conjoined Blue Bayou Restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean will also be closing for refurbishment on May 4th. However, the restaurant is set to reopen on May 21st.

The Blue Bayou webpage notes that “The restaurant will offer a modified dining experience while Pirates of the Caribbean is also under refurbishment, as views will be obstructed and Guests may hear some refurbishment noise.”
