This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things in Magic Kingdom

One of our favorite things about Disney World is the occasional magic that fun little activities can add to your trip.

One of those activities that we enjoy is the A Pirates Adventure – Treasure of the Seven Seas, where you can explore Adventureland via five different pirate raids using a pirate map and a magic talisman (in the form of a card). And for a few days, participating in this activity came with a nice perk: a free Lightning Lane to Pirates of the Caribbean. Well, now, that has changed.

A Pirates Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas will send you off on an adventure to help Captain Jack Sparrow locate the Treasures of the Seven Seas. while fighting off Captain Barbossa and the Royal Navy. If you help Captain Jack succeed in all the missions, you’ll get to be part of his crew. And just three days ago, if you succeeded, you’d get a FREE Lightning Lane to Pirates of the Caribbean.

A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas

Well, just three days later, we participated in A Pirates Adventure and went to redeem our talisman for a Lightning Lane, and were told that this is no longer available. A Cast Member explained that this was supposed to be a fun little surprise thing, but because the word got out, they had to discontinue giving out the Lightning Lane as a prize. Now, note that before three days ago, you didn’t get any kind of prize, so we’re back to that now.

However, the activity is still available if you want to have some fun in Magic Kingdom and have a chance to become part of Captain Jack Sparrow’s crew. The quests are short, so it doesn’t take a lot of time to complete, and you’ll have a lot of fun in the process. You’ll find A Pirates Adventure in a small building on the outskirts of Adventureland, just pass the arches connected to Pirates of the Caribbean. You can pick up a map to get started from 11 AM to 5 PM every day.
