This Magic Kingdom Refurbishment Just Got A BIG Update

With all of the construction and changes going on around Disney World, it can be easy to forget about some of the smaller projects currently happening.

Storybook Circus Construction

A popular Storybook Circus store in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom has been closed since February for a little refresh, and although we still don’t have an opening date, what we DO have is a new update!

Big Top Souvenirs — home to a gift shop with merchandise and treats — has been closed for going on five months now. And in this time, the tent has been taken down, leaving just the steel frame that held it up. BUT we have a new tent!

Look how new it looks!

This tent has two colors of blue and several white strips on the side. It also has a gold pole featuring a yellow flag on the top.

And although we still don’t have an opening date, this addition is just another step closer to having it reopen! Things seem to keep moving along in Storybook Circus because just a couple of weeks ago, Pete’s Silly Sideshow reopened as well — which closed for refurbishment in January.

Big Top Souvenirs is expected to open later this year, but a specific date has yet to be announced. For now, there are a lot of other great things to enjoy in Storybook Circus like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, where guests can fly high with Dumbo, the Smellephants on Parade — an interactive scratch and sniff game — and character meet-and-greets with Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse!
