What Will Epic Universe’s Opening Do to Disney World Wait Times?

Epic Universe is opening at Universal Orlando in just over one month — and to say people are excited is an understatement. We’ve already had the chance to check this new theme park out a few times, and we can’t wait to go back.

But, we can’t help but wonder how the opening of Epic Universe will impact Disney World crowds — and wait times. While Disney doesn’t seem to be worried about it, many people are giving up their Disney World Annual Passes in favor of Universal ones.

We’ll have to wait and see just how Epic Universe’s opening will impact Disney World wait times, but no matter when you’re heading to Disney World, keeping up with the latest wait times is always a good idea. And if you want to know our best advice for avoiding long lines, you’ve come to the right place.

Our top tips for avoiding long lines without spending any extra money are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night!

You can also take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours depending on what Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to get a little extra time in the parks before everyone else gets there.

And, you can always take advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass (and the new Premier Pass!) These are skip-the-line services that allow you to bypass the standby lines at popular Disney World rides.
