Given Disney World’s popularity, parks like EPCOT can sometimes be a tough place for those who don’t handle crowds well. However, there are “rules” that will make the day much easier for introverts.

Whether it’s the best way to get into the park, go-to rides, or a way to pop out and escape the crowds if need be, any introvert heading to EPCOT needs to keep these in mind.
Take the Skyliner, but Watch the Time
If you’re heading to EPCOT using Disney World Transportation, we’d advise using the Skyliner if possible. Not only are the gondolas usually* private, but you’ll enter through the back of the park at the International Gateway, which is usually not as crowded as the traditional front entrance.

*NOTE HERE: If you’re traveling solo or with a small party, you may be asked to share a Syliner gondola during peak travel hours. Keep that in mind.
Empt(ier) Rides
If you feel the need to try and escape the crowds at EPCOT, there are several attractions at the park that aren’t usually crowded and provide cool, air-conditioned spaces.

These include:
- The American Adventure show provides a long, dark show experience and is almost never full, meaning you’ll likely be able to sit far from everyone else in the theater.
- Spaceship Earth, the park’s legendary weenie E-Ticket provides a serene slow-moving ride in a relatively private Omnimover ride vehicle. While lines may be long early in the day, they’re generally quite light for the majority of the afternoon and evening.
- The Seas Pavilion often has slightly smaller crowds than others in the park, and the aquarium provides larger open spaces to walk around and observe sea life.
The BEST Spots to Decompress
If you find yourself needing to get a few minutes to decompress away from everything, including rides, several spots in World Showcase are generally devoid of massive crowds. These include the Venice outcropping in front of the Italy Pavilion (Warning, this area can sometimes be used for private events, including weddings), the gardens at the back of the U.K. Pavilion, the waterfalls in the Canadian Pavilion, and (usually) almost the entire Morocco Pavilion.

Take a (Board)Walk
If you need to briefly get out of the park entirely, you can walk out through the aforementioned International Gateway, and walk the serene path between the park and the Boardwalk Resort to clear your head.

If you’re an introvert heading to EPCOT, have no fear. If you follow these “rules”, you’ll be able to make the most of your Disney World Day. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney Tips!

Another potentially good place for introverts: the benches between the shop and the clocktower. It’s shady and generally quiet, although Sergio performs not far from there so it could get noisy sometimes. My partner and I were there a couple weeks ago and found it was a really nice place to get off our feet and out of the sun, plus the construction scrim over the tower it somehow makes it a little more relaxing.
