The Bizarre Wait Time Trends During the FIRST Day of the EPCOT Flower & Garden

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival kicked off yesterday, and it brought some crowds to the park!

​Fans flocked from all over to check out the springtime festival — enjoying the lovely topiaries, shopping the exclusive merch, and of course, digging into some delicious eats! But do people bother to do any RIDES during a festival day?

We’ve rounded up all the wait times from Wednesday, February 28th in Disney World, and the trends we’re seeing in EPCOT are interesting indeed. Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are often the most popular rides in the park, and that much remained true on a festival day, with the two keeping high waits for a large portion of the day.

However, for the rides outside of the World Showcase (where the bulk of the festival offerings are located), the wait times weren’t nearly as long! Test Track had a little spike up to 80 minutes after a brief closure in the morning, but most of the other attractions stayed in single or low double-digit wait times.

So it seems that the festival successfully distracted people from visiting the other parts of the park. How interesting! But what about the other parks? Did EPCOT draw the crowds away? It looks like it did! Wait times were fairly low during peak hours at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom.
