NEW Permit Filed for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT

When we’re at EPCOT, we love heading over to the France Pavilion. Where else can you meet Princess Belle, eat a baguette, and shrink down to the size of a rat to explore Paris?

Unfortunately, a new Notice of Commencement permit means that our upcoming rides on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure could be paused!

Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new Notice of Commencement recently for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. It’s to install set elements on the ride, which could potentially include adding large scenic details, show sets, and other themed elements.

The permit lists Icarus Exhibits, a frequent Walt Disney Imagineering partner, as the contractor. Icarus Exhibits has designed and installed sets for some iconic Disney World attractions, including Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They’re currently working on other upcoming projects at Disney World, like The Magic of Disney Animation and Monsters, Inc. land at Hollywood Studios.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was recently refurbished last November, when the ride was converted from 3D to 2D. At the time, Disney stated that riders would see new props and lighting enhancements on the queue and ride, but they were ultimately never installed. It looks like Disney will finally be installing these soon!

While Disney hasn’t announced a timeline or closing date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, this work will likely close down the ride for a few days. Set elements can get pretty large, especially in a ride where even small objects are as tall as a person. We’re constantly checking the Disney World calendar to plan for ride closures, including at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
