For tons of people inclement weather means staying indoors but what do you do when you’ve spent tons of money on your vacation and a hurricane rolls in that you can’t do anything about?
Hurricane Idalia recently impacted Florida and we were keeping track of statements, cancelation policies, and closures from Disney, Universal, Orlando Airport, and more. While the Disney World parks stayed open, Typhoon Lagoon and the mini golf courses closed for the day.
As Disney deemed it safe enough to keep the parks open, we visited the theme parks on August 30th. Most rides were able to run as normal and there were significantly lower crowds and wait times.
For instance, Magic Kingdom seemed to open to incredibly low wait times despite the bouts of wind and rain that hit intermittently throughout the earlier hours.
But EPCOT seemed to have the lowest wait times. Test Track was the highest reaching an 85-minute posted wait time at its highest all day long.
