When you’re visiting Disneyland, there are SO many different dining options to choose from, it can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Thankfully, that’s why we’re here! We’ve eaten at all the different restaurants at the resort and go back frequently to help you decide where may be a great spot for your upcoming vacation vs. where you may want to avoid. If you’re heading into Disney California Adventure, we’re here to tell you that Flo’s V8 Cafe is NOT a spot you want to miss out on!
Background
Flo’s V8 Cafe is inspired by the iconic restaurant from the Cars film franchise, and it’s brought to life in a fantastic, fun way! It’s fun for the whole family and has been a pretty big hit since it debuted in 2012.

If you’re a Cars fan, we absolutely recommend checking it out, but we also think it’s a great fit for others in your party as well.
Atmosphere
Seating for this quick service restaurant is entirely outside, so while it’s mostly under cover, on hot days, it can be a little intense.

Thankfully, with so much seating, it’s rare we have a problem finding a seat, so that’s not something you’ll likely have to worry about unless it’s peak meal time during the busy season.

But enough about that, what’s the food like?
Food & Drinks
For our first entree, we grabbed the Spicy Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger for $15.99. This is your Choice of Angus Beef & Mushroom Patty or Angus Beef Patty, Bacon, Spicy Guacamole, Cheddar, Chipotle Mayo, and Lettuce, served with your choice of Cuties® Mandarin Oranges or Fries.

This thing has a real kick to it, so if you’re spice adverse, stay far away from this one! The guacamole was ample and the bacon was crispy, so we enjoyed it, don’t get us wrong, but whew, that kick was intense!

We also grabbed the Flo’s Famous Fried Chicken for $19.99, which comes with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Seasonal Vegetables.

This was nice and crispy and definitely shareable! The Chicken was cooked perfectly, and the skin was nice and crunchy. The potatoes were creamy and had a good amount of seasoning, as were the vegetables. It certainly tasted like an all-American meal!

For dessert, we grabbed Flo’s Classic Shake for $7.29! This is a Vanilla, Chocolate, or Strawberry Shake topped with “Road Gravel.” We went with the vanilla, and it’s topped with Oreo bits. Yes, it’s overpriced, but it’s surprisingly sweet and flavorful, and the Oreo bits make for a great cookies and cream shake. It was thick and creamy but easy to drink, so we were fans, but we wouldn’t get it all the time because of that price.

To drink, we also tried the Pomegranate Margarita for $19.50, which is made with Encinitas, CA (ABV 10%) and served over Ice.

This was refreshing with a slightly bitter but fruity aftertaste. The notes of pomegranate are definitely there, but not overpowering. If you like pomegranate, or you’re looking for cocktails that are a little more watered down, this one may be a good choice; however, it’s nothing to really write home about.
Magic or Tragic?
We think this DCA restaurant is a must-visit if:
- You’re looking for a restaurant with some classic American options
- You’re a picky eater or have one in your party
- You love Cars!
You should skip this restaurant if:
- You’re looking for a sit-down meal
- You want indoor seating
- You want a meal that will absolutely wow you
Overall, we think Flo’s V8 Cafe is a great choice for families or groups with lots of different taste buds or preferences, and we think it’s more than worth the stop by on your next trip.

REVIEW: This Disneyland Restaurant Is STILL One of Our Favorites…Even With NEW Menu Items

What do you get at this restaurant? Tell us in the comments!
You’re right the fried chicken at Flo’s is excellent! Second, only to the fried chicken at Plaza Inn which is the best! Their fries are excellent as well. Great for a snack during the day and you can mobile ordee to avoid the ordering lines, which can get extremely long during high-volume days. My niece enjoys the cheeseburger there. It’s a basic theme, park burger, but she likes it.
There is plenty of indoor seating and it’s great themeing too! Check it out during the holidays it is so cute. You may have to wait a few minutes during busy times but I’ve never had a problem getting in the door seat.
