Spring break season is HERE, and that means lots of families have plans to travel to Disney World or Universal Orlando, and it’s important to be prepared.

While we often talk about how much construction is going on in Disney World, Universal Orlando isn’t immune to projects happening. Currently, they’re working on building the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster that’s taking the place of Rip Ride Rockit, but there are other rides around the parks that will have closures happening this upcoming month. If you’re visiting in April, watch out for these THREE ride closures!
Beginning with the resort’s newest park, there will be one ride closure in April at Epic Universe. Yoshi’s Adventure will close from April 21st to April 23rd. Fortunately, it’s only a two-day closure, but we know this will likely cause other wait times to soar a bit.

The other two closures are taking place over in Islands of Adventure. Jurassic Park River Adventure has been closed since January 5th and will remain closed until November 19th, and Pteranodon Flyers closed on February 27th, and will reopen on May 14th. Yes, that’s TWO attractions in the same section of the park, which isn’t great! Thank goodness VelociCoaster is still open — we don’t know what we’d do with ourselves then.

While those are the only RIDE closures happening in April, there are some other restaurant and attraction closures we feel you should know about. Me Ship, The Olive, the imaginative play area inside Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure, will be closed from May 26th to June 9th.

Finnegan’s Bar & Grill in Universal Studios has also been closed since January 12th and will remain closed through Winter 2026, though no official date has been announced.

We also think it’s important to be prepared for upcoming closures if you’re visiting later this year! For those visiting Epic Universe in May, know that Mine-Cart Madness will be closed on May 3rd, and if you’re visiting Universal Studios in June, MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack will be closed from June 1st to 16th.
