Disney World Isn’t Wasting Any Time With This HUGE Hollywood Studios Change

Disney just dropped a ton of news on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for 2026, so it’s almost fitting to talk about monsters. Only, the monsters we’re going to talk about right now are the ones coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Construction walls for new Monsters, Inc. land

Disney Imagineering is working long and hard at the brand-new Monsters Inc. Land, which is taking over what was Muppets Courtyard. They have been making TONS of progress, and we’re here to give you another update!

Disney has been doing a lot since we last checked in, and thanks to aerial footage provided by @bioreconstruct on X, we can take a look at all the progress and work that’s been done.

Let’s start by looking at some aerial photos of construction near what used to be PizzeRizzo in Muppets Courtyard. We’re not sure what the former pizza place will become in Monstropolis, but it looks like they’ve been working on the exterior of the building quite a bit. Could this become another quick-service dining spot?

You can see this photo provided that the exterior style is changing for what’s coming to Monstropolis. Notably, there are additional columns added, spanned with semicircular frames.

Work is also now being done on what might be called “The Glob” theatre in Monstropolis city. You can see that the clock on the clock tower is covered up!

We’re not sure what the actual name of this building will be, or what’s coming inside yet — but we can’t wait to find out!

Alright, let’s talk about the big thing, the E-Ticket attraction. Check out this awesome photo of the current staging for the Monsters Inc. roller coaster. It was captured in the view of the Disney Skyliner EPCOT line.

There are also aerial photos of the construction taking place on the Monstropolis roller coaster, where diverging footers for a dual unload/load configuration can be seen in the concrete.

There is seriously so much happening on the main attraction, and seeing it progress this rapidly is getting us super excited!

This roller coaster will be Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster. The concept is like the hanging door scene from the movie, and it sounds like it will truly immerse guests. We’ve already seen a concept video of how the seats will actually be picked up and put onto the rack!
