The time has come! One of our favorite Disneyland attractions is FINALLY coming back from refurbishment, and we couldn’t be more excited.

With the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration underway, many Disneyland attractions are undergoing minor refurbishments to ensure everything runs smoothly for all guests visiting the park. We’ve been waiting to hear when the Matterhorn will be reopened, and we finally have a date.
On the Disneyland website, operating hours for the Matterhorn Bobsleds are now listed, starting on July 24th.

This ride had a previously scheduled opening date, but Disney pushed it back as they continued to work on the attraction.

July is a big month for Disneyland. Walt Disney — A Magical Life, the second show being added to the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln theater on a rotating basis. The new show, featuring the first Walt Disney animatronic, is set to open on July 17th, following a delay in its original opening date.

“it’s a small world” is also getting a minor upgrade on July 17th. The ending chorus from the final scene is getting a new version written by Richard Sherman before his passing. This update will also be available at Disney World on the same date.

While Disneyland is celebrating its 70th birthday until the end of summer 2026, the official opening date of Disneyland was July 17th, 1955. It’s fun to see two new updates happening in the park on the exact birthday and the Matterhorn opening shortly after.
