There are lots of great things about a trip to Disney World.

We love the rides, the shows, and the food at Disney World, but if we’re being honest, our biggest obsession might just be the shopping. But in the excitement of buying all the magical merch, we don’t always stop to think about the practical stuff, like how we’re actually going to get it all home. That part usually hits us as we’re packing up the night before our flight. Luckily, after playing this game more times than we can count, we’ve learned a few smart tips for getting your Disney treasures home safe and stress-free.
With all the neat souvenirs Disney sells in the parks, you’re bound to find something you’ll want to take home with you. The problem, though, is that not all souvenirs are small, light, or symmetrically shaped. So, how do you get them home? Follow these tips for some great ideas!
Mickey Balloons
If you’ve purchased a Disney World balloon, there are some things you should know before taking it home! The TSA technically won’t allow inflated balloons on a plane. The balloons are tied shut with their ribbon, and if you have a bobby pin or other small object like that, they’re pretty easy to open up. Simply let the air out and pack it away.
You can have these reinflated at home, too! Either blow them up yourself (and learn how frustrating trying to get air into BOTH of Mickey’s ears is!) or take it to your local party supply store. Most are happy to try filling it up for you for a small fee!

Popcorn Buckets
Be sure that if you’ve purchased a popcorn bucket and they are outside of your bags, you follow the directions of putting it in a bin while going through security. We’re sure the TSA agents see these often, but they might ask you to remove it from your carry-on depending on what type of features the bucket has.

Droids
If you have built your droid over in Galaxy’s Edge, you are going to want to keep that thing safe. If you are flying home with one, be aware that TSA may take extra time to look at it while going through security. Remember that if it does not fit in a bag, it will likely count towards your bag count once you get to your gate, about to board the plane.

The most important tip for going through TSA is listening to their directions. If they ask you to remove items from your bag, even if this is different from your home airport, please comply, as it makes the process quicker for everyone.
