REVIEW: We Don’t Normally Tell You To Order A Disney Hot Dog, But This Time, It’s Different

So we wouldn’t normally tell you to order a hot dog in Disneyland, but sometimes a hot dog is all you need.

And well, let’s just say that hot dogs don’t necessarily HAVE to be boring. For starters, you can always dip it in breading and fry it up as a corn dog (our favorite way to eat a hot dog), or you can add some sweet toppings and plus it up like GCH Craftsman Grill often does at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. Well, GCH Craftsman Grill has done just that again…and let’s just say the result is hot dog perfection.

Every month, GCH Craftsman Grill releases its Hot Dog of the Month, and this month, the hot dog is the Quesa-Birria Dog, which already sounds very promising. It’s made with a grilled all-beef hot link, slow-braised beef birria, chipotle aioli, cilantro, onion, Cotija cheese, and Fresno peppers served on a cheese-crusted brioche bun with a side of ancho chile consommé for $17.

This could be the best hot dog we’ve had here. These flavors meld so well together, and the ancho chile consommé adds just the right amount of heat. Then you get the heat from the hot link. Add that to perfectly-cooked birria, and everything just combines so well together. The chiptole aioli on top offers a nice tang.

This is also a HUGE amount of food, so it’s worth the price. Warning, though: this is a SPICY dog, and if you’re averse to heat, it’s probably not for you.
