In One Week a Disney World Restaurant Closes to Make Way for Some Major Changes

A lot is happening in Magic Kingdom. Both Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad just reopened with some big updates. Construction continues on a Villains land, as well as on a Cars expansion in Frontierland.

A restaurant in Magic Kingdom will be changing soon, too, and we wanted to remind you about it. The Diamond Horseshoe will be temporarily closing on May 16th to become a new experience throughout the summer.

Table service dining will end at The Diamond Horseshoe on May 16th to make way for a new Cool Kids Summer offering in Magic Kingdom. The experience is called Jessie’s Roundup, and it will be a craft and dance party with Jessie, Woody, and some other Toy Story friends inside the restaurant. That means the restaurant won’t be a restaurant during this time.

Currently, The Diamond Horseshoe is offering the same holiday foods-inspired menu, including the highly popular Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, that you can get at Liberty Tree Tavern. So if you’re wanting to eat the same menu, you can just make a reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern while The Diamond Horseshoe is closed as a restaurant.

The closure of the dining service is temporary, though, and Disney has confirmed that dining service will resume in fall 2025, once Cool Kids Summer is over. Disney has not confirmed if the menu would remain the same, but it’s highly likely that it will.

In addition to Jessie’s Roundup, Cool Kids Summer is bringing Goofycore to CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT, characters will make scheduled appearances at Disney World hotels, and characters will be available for meet and greets during Early Theme Park Entry in the parks.
