NEW Locations Revealed for Disney’s Soarin’ Across America Ride

Soarin’ to tower, we just got word on more details on what’s coming to the brand new Soarin’ overlay that will be at both Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, including some flight destinations!

Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure and Soarin’ Around the World at EPCOT are both being rethemed for a limited time to Soarin’ Across America. All we knew before was that the retheme was coming to both parks, but now Disney has just announced some locations that will be featured in the new version of the ride, as well as more details!

Soarin’ Across America is a brand-new retheme coming to the iconic Soarin’ rides at both parks for the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. This all-new journey will showcase the beauty and wonder of the United States. Soarin’ Across America debuts on May 26th at Disney World and July 2nd at Disneyland Resort.

We’ve been looking forward to what the new experience will bring, and now we have a first look at some of the locales that will be featured. Soarin’ Across America will bring breathtaking “seasons and regions” to life.

You’ll see things like the rugged New England coastline and the iconic New York Harbor. Oh, and you’ll get to fly over the vast expanse of Grand Canyon West. There’s also no way we’d be flying across America and not seeing Mount Rushmore!

Disney said that the new experience features so many “quintessentially American settings“. Think about the autumn colors you see in the heartland, the great plains of the west, the northern wilderness of America, and the stunning sunlit island shores. All of those gorgeous settings will be on the ride.

“Each scene helps to create a portrait of what we believe makes America so special,” said creative director and chief storytelling executive of Walt Disney Imagineering, Tom Fitzgerald. “It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250^th anniversary of the United States.”

The ride will also feature a new musical arrangement by Bruce Broughton, underscoring the adventure. So, don’t worry, you can still hum the iconic music, but with a little twist. The experience on Soarin’ will also feel different, with new ride programming, wind elements, and more, to create a truly immersive experience. There will also be a new trivia game featured in the Soarin’ queue line at EPCOT, testing your American knowledge.

If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you’ll actually have a chance to ride this before anyone else! Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT will have Annual Passholder previews on May 19th and 20th. You won’t need to worry about virtual queues or early sign-ups. All you need to do is show up at the attraction.
