INTRODUCTION

Guardians of the Galaxy Collector's Fortress The immense, obviously not-of-this-world Collector’s Fortress dominates the skyline at the end of Hollywood Land. Inside, Taneleer Tivan (aka The Collector) invites the people of Terra to see his newest acquisition: The Guardians of the Galaxy. But Rocket has other ideas, and enlists guests to help him break out his companions during their VIP tour. The chaos resulting from this little bit of sabotage sends everyone into a series of free falls – accompanied to some awesome ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s music.

ATTRACTION

The Queue — The exterior queue takes a circuitous path through Tivan’s Oasis (known by some as “The Gardens of the Galaxy”), where Taneleer Tivan has gathered his collection of strange and unusual plants from around the galaxy. The Gardens also feature his collection of sounds – Terrans might recognize a few of them.

The Fortress Lobby — At the Lobby’s entrance stands a huge statue of The Collector. Inside the lobby is filled floor to ceiling with display cases containing a variety of living creatures and objects. Marvel and Disney fans may notice some familiar items. In a video, The Collector welcomes Terrans to the tour of his “Tivan Collection”, and proudly displays the Guardians of the Galaxy in their glass cages, where they are suspended over a deep abyss.

The Collector’s Office — The tour begins in Tivan’s office, where even more of his collection can be viewed. Rocket, who has managed to escape, makes a sudden appearance and enlists guests to help free the Guardians. With their security clerance he can access and blow up the generator that powers the security system, releasing them from their cages. What can go wrong?

The Gantry Lift — To access the upper levels of the Collection, guests enter and take their seats in the Gantry Lift, fastening their seat belts. All loose items should be stowed. After pulling back from the loading area, Rocket takes over and the gantry “rockets” to the top of the Fortress, where Rocket disables the generator – freeing the Guardians, but plunging the gantry into darkness and a series of free falls.

Guests experience one of six different ride profiles, each set to a different “Awesome Mix Tape” song, and including its own set of visuals of the Guardians making their escape.

  • “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar
  • “Give Up The Funk” by Parliament
  • “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf
  • “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5
  • “Free Ride” by The Edgar Winter Group
  • “Burning Love” by Elvis Presley

Exit — In the exit hallway, in addition to some additional musical selections from the Awesome Mix Tape, listen to the sounds of the chaos left behind: the sounds of rampaging escaped creatures, Rocket celebrating, The Collector mourning his loss.

Guests exit into The Collector’s Warehouse where a selection of merchandise, some of it exclusive to the attraction, is on sale.
