You might have a perfect vacation planned in Disney World, right down to everything you want to ride, but sometimes, things don’t always go according to plan.
That’s because sometimes things just happen. We’ve seen rides close due to bad weather. Sometimes Disney announces refurbishments for attractions that result in closures. Sometimes rides go down due to technical issues. But there’s one ride you can almost ALWAYS count on being closed when you visit Disney World.
In taking a look at yesterday’s wait times for May 16th, we noticed a trend when looking at ride closures. We’ve seen this almost EVERY day in Disney World, so the one ride that will most likely be closed for at least part of the day is Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. On May 16th, the ride was down for four solid hours.
This ride is probably one of the most technologically-advanced attractions in Disney World, so it makes sense that because of everything involved with making it work, it would be the ride that goes down the most. The good news is that it DOES eventually reopen.
However, this could impact your day, especially if it’s a priority and you have other plans or are park hopping when it reopens. The best thing you can do is keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens and hope for the best!
If you buy the Individual Lightning Lane attraction and the ride goes down, you WILL get an all-day redemption pass to be used once the ride reopens. However, if you’re not available to ride it later, that could be money wasted. If the ride IS down all day, though, you will get a refund.
