3 Life-Changing Announcements for Disney’s Hollywood Studios This Summer

Disney World often likes to debut some pretty significant changes to its parks during the summer season, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is certainly getting in on the fun!

While each park is almost always getting some sort of upgrade, it seems like Hollywood Studios is getting extra-special treatment this summer. From new ride theming to totally new area offerings, here’s what you need to know about the changes coming to the park this summer!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Changes

A new Star Wars movie is hitting theaters this May, and some Galaxy’s Edge will be feeling the effect! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is getting a new mission based on The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, and we’ll see that change as soon as May 22nd, 2026.

The change will feature new scenes featuring the titular characters, as well as updated graphics and a more interactive experience altogether.

Additionally, the Engineer role will expand, allowing this rider to pick the location everyone travels to!

In the past, the ride’s mission was always the same, so this variation is a welcome change.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has abandoned its Aerosmith theming in favor of a new Muppets theme! Opening May 26th, 2026, this latest version of the ride will let you rock out with the famous Electric Mayhem.

The newest version of the ride will have you meet an audio-animatronic of Scooter (acting as band manager) along with the penguin audio engineers as they work hard to get Electric Mayhem to its concert on time.

The ride will also include the following setlist:

• “Song 2” — The Electric Mayhem (made famous by Blur)
• “Born To Be Wild” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken (made famous by Steppenwolf)
• “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
• “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
• “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson

Walt Disney Studios

A brand new area is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting May 26th, 2026! Walt Disney Studios will be home to several new attractions, such as The Magic of Disney Animation. The building that used to be home to Star Wars: Launch Bay will now host this new experience, which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in California.

Inside, you can explore the different studio departments and interact with all sorts of animated offerings.

The Drawn to Wonderland Playground will also open and provide a whimsical indoor play area for kiddos. This space will feature an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” based on the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair.

Can’t have an animation area without some sketching! Olaf Draws will be a new experience where “you’ll even pencil in some time to learn how to draw your very own character sketch” with help from a BRAND-NEW Olaf audio-animatronic. Together with some legendary Disney Animation artists, Olaf will teach you how to draw some of Disney’s most famous characters.

Off the Page will be a character meet-and-greet experience where you can meet Disney characters across “six unique departments from the animation studio.” Characters include the following:

• Mulan in Story
• Rapunzel in Layout (in “a setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera”)
• Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation
• Donald and Daisy in CG Animation
• Goofy in Lighting
• Stitch in Effects

Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will also debut on May 26, 2026, in the building that housed Play and Dance. This family-friendly dance party has been a hit at Disney’s California Adventure, and we can’t wait to see it come to Florida!
