Uh, Magic Kingdom, are you doing okay over there? We don’t think this is something we’ve seen in the parks before!
On the evening of February 10th, the park seemed to experience an outage that caused nearly every single ride to close for quite a while. All the rides in Fantasyland and Frontierland went down along with several others throughout the park, which caused longer lines at the attractions that were able to stay open.
If you’re heading to Disney World soon, don’t forget about Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass (and the new Premier Pass!) These are skip-the-line services that allow you to bypass the standby lines at popular Disney World rides. Disney recently switched over to this system instead of the previous Genie+. You can read all about the NEW Lightning Lanes here.
Our top tips for avoiding long lines — without spending any extra money — are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night!
Not only that, but you can also take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours depending on what Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to get a little extra time in the parks before everyone else gets there.
