6 Things Flight Attendants Wish You’d Stop Doing When Flying to Disney World

The anticipation leading up to your Disney World trip can start to feel really real once you board your flight!

Let’s fly to Disney World!

While it can be super exciting as a passenger to fly to Disney World, for flight attendants, it can be a bit stressful being tasked to keep all their passengers safe on the way to Orlando. To help make your travel experience easier for both you and the flight attendants on your flight, there are six things that flight attendants wish you would stop doing on your flight to Disney World

Let’s get into it!

Stop Bringing Too Many Bags on Board

Depending on which airline you fly, there are different bag restrictions. In most cases, you will be allowed one carry-on and one personal item. To help make the boarding process smoother and to avoid having to repack, make sure to stick to your bag allotment

Luggage

The same goes for on the way home; we know that you will probably want to purchase souvenirs to remember your time at Disney World. We have all been guilty of carrying the iconic blue plastic Disney bag on our flight home, but make sure your souvenirs will fit within your bag allotment! We like to carry an empty duffle bag or backpack with us in the event our souvenirs don’t fit in the bags that we brought with us. Just once again, make sure you stay within your carry-on allotment or plan to check a bag.

Stop Asking to Switch Seats

If you want to keep your whole party together, it is best to make sure your seats are booked together at the time of booking. Although many airlines have family seating policies and will try their best to keep families together, sometimes it does not work out. Planning to sit together ahead of time can make flying less stressful as you will not have to ask to switch seats or ask a flight attendant to find people who are willing to switch.

Sit in your assigned seat

It is also important that you sit in your assigned seat. While there has been a trend of people hoping for the best and sitting in a better seat than the one they were assigned, this could delay the boarding process and make it harder for flight attendants to guide everyone to their correct seat.

Stop Talking During the Safety Demonstration

It is essential to pay attention during the safety demonstration, regardless of whether it is your first or 100th time flying. Not only is it nice to be respectful to the flight attendants, but each plane has different safety features, so it is important to listen up.

Once the safety demonstration is over, you can get to relax and look forward to your Disney World vacation!

Sit back and enjoy your flight!

Stop Playing Your Music Out Loud

Headphones are a travel essential, especially if you plan to watch movies or listen to music. If you forget them, you can always purchase some at the airport or kindly ask a flight attendant if they have any. Although your taste in music is probably great, other passengers don’t want to hear it, and flight attendants don’t want to have to deal with noise complaints.

Remember to pack headphones!

Stop Taking Off Your Shoes

We know that flights can be long, and you want to be comfortable, but as a courtesy to flight attendants and fellow passengers, please keep your shoes on at all times. While Florida can be hot, it is best to wear closed-toed shoes as well as socks for safety while flying and for the comfort of others.

Keep your shoes on!

Stop Standing Up Before the Fasten Seatbelt Sign is Off

Hooray! You made it to Disney World, but before you stand up to stretch your legs and grab your bags, it is important to keep your seatbelt fastened until you have arrived at the gate and the fasten seatbelt sign is off. Flight attendants don’t want to have to get on the intercom and call you out, so just wait until the all-clear before standing up to deboard the plane.

Wait for the fasten seatbelt sign to turn off

These courtesies are also great to keep in mind for all air travel, as well as flying to Disney World. For more travel tips and to stay up to date on the latest theme park news, make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars!
