We’ve officially reached fall at Disney World, and Halloween is only a few weeks away.
Typically, around this time, we see a bit of an uptick in crowds and wait times throughout the parks. Many schools throughout the country have fall break in early October, folks are flocking to the parks to experience the fall decor and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and others are simply trying to visit Disney World without sweating the entire time. Each year, we brace ourselves for this rush of crowds that seems to come around the start of October. However, some wait times on the 2nd of October really surprised us!
Of course, some parks and rides are busier than others. One park that seems to always have high waits is Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as it boasts quite a few thrill rides that many fans are itching to experience. With the influx of crowds, we expected them to be there!
However… the waits at Hollywood Studios really surprised us. All day long, the majority of the rides averaged waits much lower than the usual. In particular, Slinky Dog Dash caught our attention.
You see, Slinky Dog Dash is one of THHEEEEE rides at Hollywood Studios. This ride almost always has extremely long waits, and it’s one of the rides that we typically recommend using Lightning Lanes or Genie+ for. On October 2nd, though, that might not have been necessary.
If you scroll through the wait times below, you’ll find that Slinky Dog Dash peaked at an 80-minute wait, when it can typically peak at 120 minutes or more. Throughout the day, though, the wait times averaged between 40 and 60 minutes, which it TOTALLY manageable!
