Nap Time Can Make or Break Your Disney World Day - Here's How to NOT Miss Out in the Parks!

If you’ve ever been to Disney World with small children (or if you remember going to Disney World as a small child), then you know how important nap time is.

Seriously, it could make or break the whole day. Nap time is how you can experience both rope drop AND fireworks at night. Nap time is how you can avoid midday meltdowns over bubble wands. Nap time is the GLUE that holds familial relationships together on long, hot days in the parks. Most importantly, nap time is not just for the kids. Folks like you and me? Grown adults? We need nap time, too. This post is going to show you WHY.

Not only can a midday nap give you the extra energy required to take on the parks later at night, but it can also allow you to skip out on higher crowds, the brunt of the Florida heat, and it can even allow you to enjoy a quiet lunch back at the hotel.

The best part? It can actually help you do everything you want to do at Magic Kingdom without spending a TON of energy. (Disney is more magical when it’s more relaxed and we will stand by that.)

Of course, we have a game plan when it comes to nap time. This post is going to act as a sample game plan for nap time on a Magic Kingdom park day.

Enchanted Tales With Belle

So, take a look at the wait times for Magic Kingdom below. You can see that the wait times for shows and “smaller”, “slower” rides are very low in the morning. Like, you can experience all the shows and smaller rides while only waiting 5-10 minutes if you are at the park when it first opens. (Not to mention that if you stay at a Disney World hotel you’ll get to enter the park 30 minutes earlier.)

You can spend the morning taking a slow and leisurely stroll through Magic Kingdom, hitting all the shows and small rides with your caffeine of choice in hand. (Well, you’ll have to finish it before hopping on a ride but you get the point.)

Grab your caffeine of choice and go!

Once the crowds start to really pick up around midday, you’re going to leave the park. Go to the hotel! Grab lunch! Go to sleep at the pool or your cozy hotel bed! Then, once it cools off for the evening, you can freshen up, grab dinner, and head back to Magic Kingdom. Wait times will be higher for those bigger attractions, but now, you have energy to wait in line, check out the fireworks, and experience shorter waits toward the end of the night at those more popular attractions.
