When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, it’s a good idea to check on the latest wait time trends so you know what to expect. And last week between May 12th–18th, the average Walt Disney World Wait times actually went DOWN.

Many of Walt Disney World’s rides saw wait time decreases this week….except at Animal Kingdom, where things either stayed the same or even increased. Most of the changes at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios were on the tiny side, but every little bit helps. In addition, there was a (likely temporary) new “champion” at the top of Hollywood Studio’s highest average wait times.
Let’s take a look at this past week’s average wait times — from lowest to highest!
Magic Kingdom
Here are the average weekly wait times for each ride below, from shortest to longest wait time:
(NOTE: Since Tron Lightcycle/Run does not use a standby line, we have not included it here)

- Hall of Presidents: 2 minutes
- Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse: 4 minutes
- Carousel of Progress: 6 minutes
- Tom Sawyer Island: 6 minutes
- Prince Charming Regal Carousel: 7 minutes
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: 9 minutes
- Mad Tea Party: 9 minutes
- Tomorrowland Speedway: 10 minutes
- Magic Carpets of Aladdin: 11 minutes
- Enchanted Tiki Room: 12 minutes
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant: 12 minutes
- Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini: 14 minutes
- Liberty Square Riverboat: 15 minutes
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 15 minutes
- it’s a small world: 18 minutes
- Astro Orbiter: 23 minutes
- Pirates of the Caribbean: 23 minutes
- Enchanted Tales with Belle: 24 minutes
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: 27 minutes
- Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: 33 minutes
- Haunted Mansion: 34 minutes
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 38 minutes
- Space Mountain: 41 minutes
- Jungle Cruise: 44 minutes
- Peter Pan’s Flight: 54 minutes

- Country Bear Jamboree: This attraction is now closed for refurbishment.
Do you see what we see? One of Magic Kingdom’s classic (and VERY popular) attractions had an average wait time of under thirty minutes! Yep, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride averaged a 23-minute wait. IMPRESSIVE!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

- Muppet Vision 3D: 10 minutes
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue: 11 minutes
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy: 14 minutes
- Alien Swirling Saucers: 30 minutes
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: 42 minutes
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway: 47 minutes
- Toy Story Mania: 48 minutes
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: 54 minutes
- Slinky Dog Dash: 75 minutes
- Rise of the Resistance: 78 minutes
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith: This ride is now closed for refurbishment
In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, even the popular rides like Tower of Terror and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway had average wait times under an hour. That’s not bad at all!
