We recently had the pleasure of sailing on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure. That means we also had the pleasure of enjoying the ship’s food.

That includes rotational dining at the Hollywood Spotlight Club. So come with us as we check out this new restaurant on the Disney Adventure.
Background
The Hollywood Spotlight Club is one of the rotational dining experiences aboard the Disney Adventure. The idea is that the restaurant is a classic Hollywood supper club where you can see celebrities like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
As you walk through the restaurant’s entrance and approach the check-in desk, you’ll see some wonderful art deco-inspired elements that give the restaurant its old Hollywood charm. You’ll even get a chance to walk on a red carpet.

The restaurant itself brings even more of those old Hollywood and art deco vibes, complete with these wonderful pillars of light that fill the room.

The seating is standard tables and chairs. The dining room is gorgeous and really feels larger than life. We have to say that this might be the most impressive of the rotational dining restaurants on the ship.

Of course, you can’t have old Hollywood without a few celebrity sightings. Not only did the room have a live singer on a stage, but you also got to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in their fancy Hollywood outfits.

Now, the characters do walk around the room and briefly wave to diners, but this isn’t like a classic character dining experience where they stop for a full meet-and-greet situation with photos.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
We started with the Sauteed Maitake Mushrooms with Sesame Artichoke Purée, Baby Malabar Spinach, Mushroom Dashi, and Citrus Vinaigrette. This dish is a rich, umami, and veggie delight! The mushrooms are small, but they’re cooked perfectly and have a real meatiness to them. The sesame adds an aromatic element, while the dashi is a well-balanced broth that’s not too salty. Combined with the sesame and spinach, it was also nice and creamy.

For our entrée, we chose the Peppered Filet Mignon with Buttered Long Green Beans, Bacon, Crushed Fingerling Potato Hash, and Pink Pepper Café au Lait. First, this blew our minds that such a quality piece of steak ended up at a rotational dining spot.

This is one of the best steaks we’ve ever had on a Disney Cruise ship. We requested medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly with a nice char on the outside. The creamy peppercorn sauce added a lovely tangy flavor. The veggies were also cooked well. Seriously, we could have eaten two of these.

Our dessert was the Chocolate Molten Cake with Double Chocolate Sauce, Milk Chocolate Soil, and Matcha Ice Cream. It was perfectly created with a gooey and rich chocolate sauce inside that wasn’t overbearing. The matcha ice cream really helped balance the richness of the cake. It had a lovely green tea flavor that complemented this dessert beautifully.

Overall, we were very impressed with this restaurant, especially for rotational dining. We give it an A+ for both food and atmosphere. This is one of the most impressive of the rotational dining restaurants you might find on any Disney Cruise Line ship.
