Full Tour of the Garden View Stateroom on the Disney Adventure Cruise Ship

Emma and I have finally set sail on the brand-new Disney Adventure cruise ship, and we’re taking you along with us!

The view from our room!

The Disney Adventure is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail out of Singapore and will sail throughout Southeast Asia. We’re making our way around the ship, checking out all there is to see and do, so let’s take a look at a Deluxe Garden View Stateroom with Verandah!

A Deluxe Garden View Stateroom with Verandah on the Disney Adventure is pretty unique in that it features gorgeous views of the Disney Imagination Garden. This is one of the ship’s main gathering areas that is home to live performances and character encounters. This is where a LOT of the action happens!

We can see the castle from our balcony!

This room type sleeps four people and features one queen bed and one double-sleeper sofa. There is also a private balcony with views of the Disney Imagination Garden.

Welcome to our crib!

Walking into the stateroom, there’s a narrow entryway that leads to the bathrooms and the closet.

Entering the room

The back of your stateroom door will contain safety information and notes on your assembly station in case of emergency.

Safety info

The lightswitch for the main lights of the room is right as you enter, this will also include controls for the service light outside your stateroom door. If you select “room occupied,” the light on your room number will glow red. If you select “service room please,” the light will glow green, and your room attendant will know that they can come by and service the room. Emma and I loved this feature!

Lights

There’s a small storage closet after you enter, with some shelving and the laundry bag inside.

Closet space

There is also open hanging storage for clothes, with some clothes hangers included.

The mini bar in these rooms is a bit different than other Disney cruise ships, with a heavier focus on tea, since it’s a more popular beverage in Asia.

Coffee and tea bar

There are two coffee mugs, Bacha coffee, and some tea bags. They also provide a selection of add-ins.

Teas

Instead of a coffee maker, each room comes equipped with an electric kettle.

There’s a kettle!

There are also a few plain drinking glasses on the shelf above.

Glasses

Instead of a regular black safe, the stateroom comes equipped with a locking drawer. Instructions for programming are included.

Safe drawer

There’s a decent amount of storage inside. This is a great place to put your valuables, like your passport.

Inside the drawer

The staterooms also have a mini fridge (not a beverage cooler, YAY!).

Mini fridge

There’s a decent amount of space inside for small beverages or leftover food and snacks.

Inside the mini fridge

There is a storage drawer underneath the fridge as well. This is a great spot for snacks or dry foods.

Storage underneath

And before you enter the main part of the room, there’s a full-length mirror and the bathroom doors on the opposite side (more on those in a minute).

Full length mirror

We stayed in a connecting room, which is available for families who need more space. If you’re not with the party on the other side, you’ll simply keep your door locked throughout the cruise (there are locking doors on both sides).

Connecting room

We ended up in a Spider-Man themed room, so there’s art of the famed hero saving the city above the bed.

Spider-Man artwork

I also noticed this fun framed sketch over the couch!

The side of the bed has a small floating nightstand…

Side table

…as well as lightswitches for smaller bedside lights and a selection of outlets.

Outlets

The other side of the bed is the same, except this is where you’ll find the dividing curtain.

The other side of the bed

The bed was decorated with a Disney Adventure footer. I love the gold design with the ship logo!

Adventure bed cover

There’s a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, TV, and a desk, as well as a heavy privacy curtain to separate the sleeping area from the sitting area.

Sitting area

If you’re traveling with more folks, the couch pulls out into a bed. With a smaller party, you can leave it as a seating area.

Couch

Across from the couch is the desk, vanity, and TV.

Desk

The TV has some ship-specific programming as well as basic channels. We like to check out the Onboard Information channel to see what info they’re sharing!

TV

One thing we like about this stateroom that’s different from other ships is this fold-out table. It’s stored underneath the desk, but it folds out to a decent size and can be moved around the room. That provides a little more flexibility with your room layout.

Pull-out table

There’s a vanity mirror with lighting over here — perfect spot to do your makeup or hair!

Vanity

Underneath the vanity, there’s a small sitting stool and the hair dryer storage.

Hairdryer and stool

Under the mirror, you’ll find lighting controls and various outlet options.

Outlets

There is ample drawer storage over here, and inside, you’ll find basic ship information, stationery, and the room service menu for breakfast.

In the drawers

Another drawer includes the mat for hot tools. If you plan to use a curling iron, straightener, or something of the like, set this mat out first so that you don’t damage the desk.

Use the mat!

The door to the balcony is next to the seating area. Make sure that you have this door completely shut in order for the air conditioning to work properly in your room.

Balcony entrance

There are two layers of curtains. The gauzy curtains allow light in, but offer privacy from the public areas…

Partial light

…while the heavier curtains block out more light AND offer full privacy.

Completely closed

On the balcony, we had two Disney Cruise Line-themed chairs, as well as a small table.

Balcony seating

As I mentioned above, this room faces the Disney Imagination Garden, so we get a spectacular view of everything going on below. It’s so pretty!

The view!

Now, on to the bathroom! These staterooms have a split bath layout. One room is home to a sink and shower combo.

Here, you’ve got towels and towel rods…

…a full sink with hand towels and storage below…

…plus some small shelving along the walls.

Storage

There are more outlets and instructions for what to do with your towels.

They’ve also got washcloths and a makeup remover cloth.

Washcloths

The walk-in shower was a decent size for a cruise ship and it has some lovely marble-like walls.

Shower

There’s a removable lower shower head about halfway up the wall.

Lower shower head

Of course, the obligatory shower products — shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Shower products

And then, there’s a VERY tall shower head up top. This gave me several inches of room, and I’m 5’9″.

Upper shower head

These showers also come equipped with a clothesline for wet swimsuits.

Clothesline

The bathroom doors each have a lock for privacy, as well.

Bathroom door latch

Moving on to the toilet room, there’s a lighted mirror…

…a small sink for washing your hands…

…a comode with a button flush…

Toilet

…and a storage area with toilet paper, toilet brush, and a small trash can.

Bathroom essentials

There’s a towel hook, a hand towel, and a sharps disposal box in the storage on the wall.
