David Besse is suing Walt Disney World due to what he claims were numerous bed bug bites from the resort that have caused “permanent” damage.

The lawsuit was filed on March 31st, 2026, with the Orange County Clerk. Walt Disney World is being sued for damages of $50,000, excluding interest, costs, and attorneys’ fees.

Besse stayed at Disney’s All-Star Sports hotel on May 15th, 2022, and the lawsuit says he “was bitten numerous times by cirnicidae (“bed bugs”).” The lawsuit says Disney World owed him a duty to “use reasonable care” by maintaining the hotel in safe conditions and to warn guests about potential “perils.”

The court documents state that Disney failed Besse by neglecting care at the resort. The documents claim Besse “suffered carring, bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, medical expenses, loss of earning, loss of the ability to earn money, financial loss, and property damage.” The suit continues to say that these losses are permanent or continuing and that Besse will suffer losses in the future due to this issue.

The suit is requesting a trial by jury, judgment for damages and costs, and anything further that the court deems appropriate. This is a developing story. We always recommend that guests check any hotels for bed bugs before settling in as an abundance of caution. According to Orkin, Bed bugs are typically 3/16 inch long, making them hard to spot. Their color can also range from red to dark brown, and these insects are mostly nocturnal. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney World updates, news, and more.
