Well, This Is Embarrassing. Disney World’s Least Popular Park Did NOT Get the Memo About This New Wait Times Trend.

When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, it’s a good idea to check on the latest wait time trends so you know what to expect.

We study the average ride wait times in Disney World and report on all the current trends! That way, you can be prepared for your next vacation.  So, now that we’re officially halfway through the month of August, what are the average ride waits looking like? Should we be worried or relieved? Let’s find out!

Let’s take a look at this past week’s average wait times. 

We noticed something interesting this week in terms of wait time trends. EVERY Disney World park boasted LOWER average attraction wait times across the board…except for one park, where the average wait times increased. Any guesses about which park is the offender?

It’s Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Take a look at the wait times below, and prepare to be surprised.

Magic Kingdom

Here are the average weekly wait times for each ride below, from shortest to longest wait time.

(NOTE: Since Tron Lightcycle/Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure do not use standby lines, we have not included them here.)

• Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse: 4 minutes
• Hall of Presidents: 4 minutes
• Carousel of Progress: 5 minutes
• Tom Sawyer Island: 6 minutes
• Prince Charming Regal Carousel: 7 minutes
• Mad Tea Party: 9 minutes
• Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: 9 minutes
• Enchanted Tiki Room: 10 minutes
• Magic Carpets of Aladdin: 10 minutes
• Dumbo the Flying Elephant: 11 minutes
• Liberty Square Riverboat:  12 minutes
• Country Bear Musical Jamboree: 15 minutes
• Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 19 minutes
• Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini: 15 minutes
• it’s a small world: 17 minutes
• Pirates of the Caribbean: 19 minutes
• Tomorrowland Speedway: 20 minutes
• Enchanted Tales with Belle: 21 minutes
• Astro Orbiter: 26 minutes
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: 25 minutes
• Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: 32 minutes
• Haunted Mansion: 32 minutes
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 32 minutes
• Jungle Cruise: 38 minutes
• Space Mountain: 43 minutes
• Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: 56 minutes.

Overall, the wait times decreased compared to last week’s data. Rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain saw a decrease in average wait times, and all Magic Kingdom rides stayed under a 60-minute average.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Read the list below to see the averages of the Hollywood Studios ride wait times, from low to high.

• Walt Disney Presents: 0 minutes 
• Muppet Vision 3D: 10 minutes
• Star Tours – The Adventures Continue: 13 minutes
• Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy: 14 minutes
• Alien Swirling Saucers: 26 minutes
• Toy Story Mania: 42 minutes
• Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: 45 minutes
• Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway: 47 minutes
• Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: 50 minutes
• Rise of the Resistance: 54 minutes 
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith: 59 minutes
• Slinky Dog Dash: 67 minutes

Slinky Dog Dash went from a 72-minute average wait time to a 67-minute average. Overall, the wait times were relatively low, considering the time of year and the high number of popular rides at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. 

EPCOT

• Journey into Imagination: 10 minutes
• The Seas with Nemo and Friends: 12 minutes
• Spaceship Earth: 13 minutes
• Turtle Talk with Crush: 15 minutes
• Mission: SPACE:  19 minutes
• Soarin’: 29 minutes
• Frozen Ever After: 48 minutes
• Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: 57 minutes

(NOTE: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind does not currently use a standby queue, so it’s not included here.)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The average wait times for Animal Kingdom’s attractions are listed below.

• The Boneyard: 0 minutes
• TriceraTop Spin: 5 minutes
• It’s Tough to Be a Bug: 10 minutes
• Dinosaur: 25 minutes
• Kilimanjaro Safaris: 33 minutes
• Expedition Everest: 36 minutes 
• Kali River Rapids: 48 minutes
• Na’vi River Journey: 54 minutes
• Avatar Flight of Passage: 85 minutes

The average wait time for Avatar Flight of Passage increased from 76 minutes to 85 minutes this week. This was the ONLY park to see its average wait times increase!
