Hello. We need to talk. There are some unspoken Disney World rules you HAVE to follow in the park, but how are you supposed to know what to do if these “rules” aren’t explicit?
We’ll be honest. A lot of the tips and tricks we share came from trail and error. We go to Disney World every single day (EVERY DAY!), so we see a lot of common (and recurring) problems in the parks and resorts. But even if you don’t go to Disney World on the daily, you can still learn how to avoid some common mistakes! Let’s take a look at the Disney World wait times to see what we can learn.
OK, so if you do any of these three things in Disney World, we’re not saying you’re WRONG, but we are saying there’s a potentially better way to do things.
Based on the wait time trends we’ve noticed, here are some traps you should NOT fall into.
1. Wait in line for the Carousel of Progress
Say what?! Hear us out. We’re not telling you to completely avoid this attraction. Instead, we’re telling you not to waste valuable time waiting in line! Why? This is actually a show, so you’re not waiting for the line to advance; you’re waiting for the next show!
So, instead of standing in line, go grab a treat at the nearby Joffrey’s location and come back when the doors open for the next show! Don’t waste your time standing around — make the most of your day in Magic Kingdom.
2. Rope-drop Dinosaur
In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there are probably two attractions that EVERYONE tries to rope-drop. And you know what? Even though EVERYONE is headed to the same place first thing in the morning, it’s still one of the best ways to score a SHORT wait for the park’s most popular attractions. We’re talking about Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey.
If you’re going to rope-drop this park, don’t waste your time starting at Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, or even Expedition Everest. Each attraction will likely see a dip in wait times at some point, where the wait times for Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey will only increase.
Skip Star Tours
Finally, we’re here to tell you NOT to sleep on this attraction! Yes, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a TON of fun rides (many more thrilling than Star Tours), but this is a classic ride that is different every time you visit!
Plus, the wait time is often nice and low and offers a nice escape from the heat.
