REVIEW: This Disney Springs Snack Was So Good, It Hurts Us That It’s Leaving

You’ll never guess what we’re up to…we’re off to Disney World to go try some more food! (Okay, on second thought, you probably guessed it.)

There are tons of places to eat at Disney World, but we recently found ourselves at Disney Springs to try a snack that’s only here for a limited time. Is this worth going out of your way for before it’s off the menu? Let’s find out!

There are so many places to dine at when at Disney Springs, but it feels like we’ve been going to The Polite Pig a lot lately. The restaurant offers a variety of wood-fired, smoked, and grilled items, as well as an innovative beverage program that serves all drinks on tap.

Right now, The Polite Pig is serving a limited-edition snack that is only available during the month of April. It’s Creamed Corn, and it costs $6. Of course, we had to try it ourselves.

When we think of creamed corn, it is not nearly as elevated as this one was. This one was like a perfectly charred and smoky version. We will admit, it surprisingly hit us in the best way possible.

The corn had been roasted over a flame, and not only can you see it in every little kernel, but you can also taste it. The fire-roasted taste shines through and is balanced with a creamy, dreamy sauce that coats every bite.

This side dish is also perfectly seasoned, reminding us of being outdoors during the summertime, grilling corn on the cob. Remember that scene in Ratatouille when Anton Ego eats the dish and is taken back to eating Ratatouille as a kid — that was us! To top it all off, the dish was topped with well-rendered chunks (not bits) of smoky, salty bacon.
