I Can’t Stop Talking About Disney’s NEW Muppet Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Announcements And My Family Is Getting Worried

Everyone, SHUT UP! It’s time for the Muppet fans to come to the front!

I love you, Kermit!

In case you missed it, Disney finally confirmed that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets will be opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26th! Not only that, Disney even gave us the FULL track list that you’ll be able to hear while you’re on the coaster. The internet (no surprise) has big feelings about these changes, but I’m here to share my full thoughts on the changes ahead as a certified Muppet enthusiast.

If you’re new here, welcome! I’m Emma, and I am a theme park expert, Team Anxiety CEO, and a certified Muppet fan. If you’ve been around for a while, you might know that I’ve been pretty hesitant about The Muppets taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. It’s actually all I can talk about these days, which some people in my life have found concerning.

If this is the first you’re hearing of these changes, the ride is saying goodbye to Aerosmith and hello to Kermit and the gang! The Muppets are taking over G-Force records, and the Electric Mayhem are about to play the biggest concert of their lives…but no one can find them. Of course, chaos ensues (because they’re the Muppets) and we’ll be shot off onto a high-speed adventure. The internet has had some big feelings about the changes. Muppets fans were excited that we weren’t losing these characters in the parks post-Muppet Courtyard closure.

Non-Muppet fans were…confused to put it nicely. Aerosmith was incredibly popular, and I’ve seen some pretty tough critiques about these changes in TikTok comments (a rough place, the comments). Me? Well, I was happy to have Muppets, but seriously scared that this would be a quick paint job with some songs and a poor showing for the characters I love so much. Now, Disney is closer than ever to opening the ride, and they have given us SO many details. Spoiler alert — my opinion has TOTALLY changed!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

The new set list for the high-flying coaster includes:

  • “Song 2” — The Electric Mayhem (made famous by Blur)
  • “Born To Be Wild” — The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken (made famous by Steppenwolf)
  • “Love Rollercoaster” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove
  • “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard
  • “Walking on Sunshine” – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson

Let me tell you, this list made me EXCITED! While I know a lot (and I mean a lot) of Muppets fans were upset about the exclusion of songs like “Rainbow Connection,” I’m here to say I totally get it! These songs were such fun, energetic choices, and while I LOVE “Rainbow Connection,” I just don’t think it would be the right vibe for a roller coaster.

We need some fast-paced and high-energy tracks to make the ride feel even quicker and more exciting while we’re riding it. PLUS, they have some seriously incredible guest artists recording alongside Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, like Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, two of the best powerhouse singers of our generation! I also am cackling, already thinking about how good Camilla the Chicken’s contributions will be.  They also gave us a first look at the band in their full glory.

You can’t tell me they don’t look AMAZING! I feel a deep maternal love for Animal, looking at these photos. The entire band looks so intentional and detailed! Disney had previously teased that there would be more animatronics in the attraction that we didn’t know about. Do we think the band could be those animatronics? I sure hope so!

Did I even mention celebrity cameos yet? Yes, there are going to be some WILD celebrity cameos. Disney shared that you might see some familiar faces throughout the ride, starting in the queue! People like Awkwafina

This is just SO MUPPETY! It really feels like Disney is bringing everything we love and know about what makes these characters so popular to the ride. While I was very nervous, I am now so excited that I’m buzzing.

That being said, I know it isn’t a perfect transition. (Is anything a perfect transition?) There are still some things I’m worried about. I am pretty sad that Muppets fans of ALL ages won’t be able to enjoy the attraction due to the intensity of the ride and the height requirements. I also am still holding out hope that we’ll hear classic songs like “Rainbow Connection” or even The Electric Mayhem’s cover of “Dancing in the Moonlight. ” Disney could still put those songs in the coaster’s courtyard or even in the queue, which would mean we would get to hear them even MORE than if they were on the ride.

The ride entrance

We won’t know for certain just how I and other Muppets fans will feel about the attraction until previews begin and it officially opens on May 26th, 2026. Despite some continued worries, I am seriously excited and overly hopeful that this retheme will introduce my beloved Muppets to an entire new audience of fans who otherwise wouldn’t care about them. We’ll just have to wait and see how it turns out together! Also, if I don’t stop talking about this soon, my family is going to get worried… but we’ll cross that bridge later. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news, theme park updates, and more because we’re very serious about fun.
