We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there are kind of a lot of rides in Disney World. Shocking, we know.
With so many rides, though, some are bound to need a bit of TLC every now and then. Disney will often close down rides for scheduled maintenance, but we sometimes see rides temporarily close throughout the day for multiple reasons. And, that’s exactly what happened at Magic Kingdom yesterday.
Magic Kingdom was riding the struggle bus yesterday! Several rides were temporarily closed throughout the day, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Carousel of Progress, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. You just never know when a ride you’re looking forward to experiencing will be closed! Luckily, Cast Members are usually able to get things back up and running quickly.
Our top tips for avoiding long lines without spending any extra money are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night!
You can also take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours depending on what Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to get a little extra time in the parks before everyone else gets there.
And, you can always take advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass (and the new Premier Pass!) These are skip-the-line services that allow you to bypass the standby lines at popular Disney World rides. Disney recently switched over to this system instead of the previous Genie+.
