A lot of things have changed at Disney World over the past few years, and one of those things is the fact that there’s not really a “slow season” anymore.
Nope, you can find the parks crawling with crowds nearly year round. The slower days always seem to take us by surprise lately; you can’t really predict them most of the time. Rope dropping the parks (showing up as soon as the parks open) is one of the ways that a lot of visitors mitigate these crowds and get on their favorite rides with shorter waits. However, we’ve found that even rope dropping doesn’t always help. We started thinking about it, and realized that rope dropping works best at ONE Disney World park in particular. Let’s talk about it!
We’ve found that EPCOT is the one place where rope dropping can actually help you knock out most of the rides before the crowds arrive to the park for the day.
If you check out the EPCOT wait times from February 4th, 2024 (Which is a Sunday! A weekend!), you’ll see that the wait times are all relatively low. Your highest wait would be 55 minutes over at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Frozen Ever After and Test Track were each at 35 minutes.
These are all rides with wait times that will shoot sky high throughout the day, so we recommend rope dropping those and then spending the rest of your day waiting in line for the other rides.
