The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival officially kicked off on August 29th, bringing a ton of eats inspired by cultures across the globe, exclusive merchandise, festival entertainment, and a whole lot more to the park.
We certainly don’t blame you if you want to plan a trip — and it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on the latest Disney World wait times before you go. And, that’s where we come in!
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World during the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, the upcoming spooky season, or maybe even during the winter holidays, you might want to know how to avoid those long wait times that can seriously put a damper on your day.
Our top tips for avoiding long lines without spending any extra money are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night! For example, if you had waited until the end of the night to ride Rise of the Resistance on August 28th, you only would have waited 20 minutes!
You can also take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours depending on what Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to get a little extra time in the parks before everyone else gets there.
And, you can always take advantage of Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass! These are skip-the-line services that allow you to bypass the standby lines at popular Disney World rides. Disney recently switched over to this system instead of the previous Genie+. You can read all about the NEW Lightning Lanes here.

We have hopped in line right before closing. Sometimes the wait time is inflated extremely high to discourage this, but don’t believe the wait time!
The added bonus is that, when the ride is over, the park is actually closed and you can walk out into Galaxy’s Edge with virtually no one around! Makes for some great pics!
