Why You Should Get to the Disney World Parks EARLY

We’re not going to sugarcoat it — if you want to ride a popular ride in Disney World, you should be prepared to wait.

Standby times for these rides are usually an hour or LONGER, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. So what can you do when that happens?

Well, you have the option to purchase Genie+ AND the Individual Lightning Lane option for those rides that offer it. Yes, that could get pricey if you have a large party, but it will let you use a ride’s Lightning Lane and avoid those long standby lines.

Another strategy is to get to the parks as early as you can. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry to ride those attractions first thing. If not, ride lines are usually not TOO bad at rope drop. That means getting up early and getting to the parks WAY before they open so you can be as close to the front of the lines as possible.

If you’re staying at Disney World deluxe hotel, you can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours, which also tend to have shorter lines. However, those are only available at specific parks on certain dates.
