The day has finally come, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is FILLED with rebels and bounty hunters who are ready to embark on new missions aboard the Millennium Falcon!

May 22nd is here, and it’s basically the second coming of Star Wars day! The Mandalorian and Grogu is now in theatres, and new missions themed to The Mandalorian have officially been added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. We got the chance to experience the ride a little early, but now it’s open to everyone, and crowds are NOT what we were expecting to see.
The day we’ve all been waiting for has come, as we now have a completely new experience on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Clearly, nobody could wait to ride this new attraction, because crowds at the entrance were pretty intense! Now, this could be because it’s summer season and many families are visiting the park as a whole, but it definitely was a busy day to rope drop.

When we got up to the Galaxy’s Edge entrance line for guests who didn’t have Early Entry, it wasn’t too bad! There were about ten people ahead of us, as well as ten people behind us when we first walked up, which was about half an hour to official opening.

Unfortunately, the ride was delayed at the start of the day, which wasn’t great. That means that all the guests with Early Entry were in line, but not moving, so when we finally got to move forward into the land, things got a little chaotic. There WAS a line, but then it formed into this major blob.

Finally, everyone did get settled into an actual line. Right around 9:45 AM, Cast Members had funneled people into the extended queue area, and the line itself extended back to the bridge by Oga’s Cantina, which honestly wasn’t as bad as we were thinking it would be.

Bt 10 AM, the ride had still not opened, so for now, we’ll be wandering around the rest of the park checking up on things, but will check back periodically to see what’s going on.

Fortunately, right around 10:10 AM, the ride finally opened with a 50 minute wait, which isn’t too bad at all for the first official day of these new missions!
There’s going to be a lot of waiting today, because as soon as guests are done with their ride, they’re going to want to ride again. Why? Well, the new version of Smugglers Run features three new missions alongside the Mandalorian and Grogu.

On top of that, everyone is going to want to try the engineer position (never thought we’d say that about this ride). The engineer spot got the biggest upgrade, and it could realistically become the favorite between the pilot, gunners, and engineers.

So, between the new engineering position AND the new missions, this is going to be a long, long wait all day. These crowds aren’t going anywhere, but hey, this is the way!

We have a LOT to cover at Disney World, and specifically Hollywood Studios. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets opens on May 26th, and although Walt Disney Studios is open, the rest of it opens on May 26th. You won’t want to miss it, so make sure to follow us at AllEars.
