Whether you knew it or not, yesterday was, quite possibly, the last “normal” day we’ll see in Disney World for quite some time.
Starting today, numerous new attractions have opened, or opened early, in Disney World, and more are just around the corner on May 26th. Soarin’ Across America in EPCOT opened early, as did The Walt Disney Studios courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it was the final day to experience another DHS ride before it changes for good. Some of these wait times are so low, we know we’ll be desperately missing them in just a few short days.
Let’s take a look at wait times from Thursday, May 21st!
Magic Kingdom
TRON Lightcycle / Run hit its highest wait time of 75 minutes at 11 AM, which is NOT something we see very often. It got close later in the evening, which is more common, but we’re assuming the higher wait time earlier in the day partially has to do with the fact that the attraction was closed the first hour of the day. While most rides were well behaved, both Peter Pan’s Flight and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for two hours throughout the day.

The highest wait of the day for EPCOT goes to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which hit a 105 minute wait at the very end of the day. Test Track was closed the first hour of the day, then was completely fine for the rest of the day, and while Spaceship Earth closed for two hours in a row, the park overall had a pretty great day.

It’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen wait times as low as this in Animal Kingdom, but be prepared, because they may not last long with the opening of Bluey’s Wild World on May 26th. The highest wait time was Avatar Flight of Passage at 75 minutes at 11 AM, but towards the end of the day, the wait times for ALL rides dropped dramatically. For the last three hours of the park day, ALL rides were 35 minutes or under, which is a huge win. Maybe visiting Animal Kingdom later in the day is the way to go right now!
