The official opening date of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is just around the corner, as it finally opens on Tuesday, May 26th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That being said, we have gotten to ride the attraction early, and we know what the ride is like already!

After seeing that we rode the brand-new version of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, a lot of YOU have asked us one big question. Is the ride smoother than the Aerosmith version? You’ve asked, and we have answers. So, let’s get right into it!

First things first, the answer to the question has nothing to do with the coaster’s track. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets uses the EXACT same track and ride vehicles as the previous version, Starring Aerosmith.

Some people online are saying they thought the new track was smoother than the Aerosmith version, but Disney confirmed that the track didn’t change at all. One of our team members believes that Disney may have replaced the wheels on the cars, but so far, that hasn’t been confirmed.

Some say that the ride feels the same as the previous version. However, a few other people disagree with that. Despite the track being unchanged, we’ve personally noticed that the first four rows are a smoother experience than the middle and back rows. The ride does still rattle you around a bit, but it’s less than it was before. So, that’s what makes it feel smoother!

If you’re wondering if you can do the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, but you couldn’t do the Aerosmith version, then we’d be cautious. Again, the Muppets version of the ride is exactly the same as what it was before.

An alternative would be to ask to sit in rows one through four when you board the ride! This will give you a less intense experience on the ride. One of our team members rode in both the front row and back row, and the front row was significantly less shaky.
